About Me

Just an eco-bro diligently trying to make some eco-gainz. I zip around the Americas auditing corporates for child labor, animal welfare, workers rights, recycling, organic product, bioenergy, deforestation, chemical usage, and other eco-bro angles. When not playing bobby to the corporates I run a network of abandoned coal mines in the Appalachia region where I create communities and host research and development pilot projects for abandoned mine restoration. Our flagship mine, The Dirty Nine, is also available for tentsurfing :)

Fully expect me to give you pointers on how to reduce the negative footprint of your toiletries set. You're welcome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At 15 years of hosting, surfing, and going to events, I'm undeniably a veteran of the space.

I enjoy hosting because when surfers come I rediscover where I live. It has me doing all the stuff I am too lazy to do on an average day, or even new things that an eager surfer churns up.

Interests

We've got an awesome local pro-wrestling venue located inside an Amish antiques mall that I'd love to take you to!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once caught a 600 pound (270 kg) mako shark off the coast of Massachusetts.
Delivered a litter of kittens while trying to teach a lesson.
Lived through hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
Took a doo-doo on Bob Vila's wall as a 6 year old
Received a complaint from the Valero Fuels Company for standing up for sustainable agriculture
Was ejected from the country of Singapore by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM)

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to share all that I know in the realm of sustainability, particularly in waste-to-reuse supply chains, bioenergy, and abandoned coal mine restoration.

But beware... it can be a lot.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories, enviro-connections, procurement of supplies, and assistance with chores. I like to tidy the house, do the dishes, help fold laundry, stock the house with beers, and help out any other way that I can!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
