About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Going back to the daily grind stateside...

ABOUT ME

I love the outdoors, camping, hiking, biking, reading, discussing life, cooking, thinking, and most importantly, getting into adventures. I have taught English in Mexico, Japan, and the US. I have a beautiful 5 year old daughter, Isabel. She is my world! I have a Masters degree in English with an emphasis in composition studies and literature, focus: counter-culture in American Literature, Jack Kerouac anyone? I am a teacher, student, traveler, and wanderer. I don't have a TV, facebook or iphone, but I don't (sometimes) judge those who do. Might as well eat at McDonalds every day, right? Ahhhhhh Amerikan influence...

PHILOSOPHY

Keep smiling.
If your not doing what you wanna be doing, what are you doing?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I made this account several years ago, but haven't taken advantage of its full powers. The last couple of years, I was recently out of grad school trying to pay the bills. Last August, I moved up to Seattle - Now, I'm ready to commit to couchsurfing as both a host and wanderer.

UPDATE: Just spent a glorious 21 days in Mexico. The big city, small city, beach, mountians and jungle. Thanks to all who hosted me and to all I got to hangout with on the road. I truly love this community of incredible people. It has been a pleasure...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Getting back in the game. I love having people crash and cooking for them...

Interests

Love the outdoors! Reading, writing, cooking, living life to the fullest. Don't have a TV and don't fair well others that do... However, we do watch a lot of flicks on the computer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love spending time in the kitchen and cooking for people. I use to wanna be a chef, still do, but gave that up to teach so I can take off every summer and winter. Sharing food is the best way to experience other cultures - breaking bread my friends. Once at a hostel in Mexico, I cooked for around 20 folks - catch up the day.
