About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I always wanted Sherman Billingsley's job..Now I have it in Club Fred!

ABOUT ME

Music, Tennis, Golf, Travel, the beach, family and community service take up most our time. My wife is a pianist, tennis player and artist. We love to travel and to entertain friends in our home. We have done exchange visits with friends in Sweden for several years and hope to make more friends around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

The art of creative becoming...I'm not what I want to be, I'm not what I'm goin' to be, but thank God I'm not what I was! Life is a process of "becoming". I want to become a person who enjoys life by sharing great times with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Look forward to hosting surfers, making new friends via the net, and surfing around the world staying with those I've come to know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted several times and look forward to being hosted by some of the intersting folks we have met on line through couchsurfing! Friends from Sweden and Austria visited in July, 2015.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Graduate, Ben Hur, How to Talk Dirty and Influence People (Autobiography of Lenny Bruce); the Bible, mystery novels, Robert Parker et.al.
I have sung many of the Masterwork Choruses from the Verdi Requiem at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia
to Prokofiev's Ivan the Terrible(with the Philadelphia Orchestra under Ricardo Muti) in Carnegie Hall.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Became a significant part of a book published by McGraw Hill called "Secondary Classroom Management" by Carol Weinstein. It reflects 28 years of life experience and the 5th English edition was published in Feb. 2011! The fourth edition was in Chinese, and the latest edition went on sale about 6 months ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

I try to be a good listener and ask engaging questions. "I don't know" and "It all depends" are correct answers to almost any question...all others answers seem to be debateable!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russian Federation, Saint Lucia, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vatican City State, Virgin Islands, U.S.
