Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am involved. I do stuff.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was unofficially CS for years in various locals before joining. As I have become more involved, I realize CS's amazing ability to bring people together. Utilizing CSing has been great, I've based some vacations around randomly picking a local and heading towards it, crashing couches along the way.
In short... wonderful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing hikes I've ever been on was the complete Torres Del Paine circuit in the Chilean Patagonia, and the Kepler Trek in Fiordland on the South Island of New Zealand. The autumn color in the High Peaks Region of the Adirondacks are wonderful too. Volcanoes NP on the Big island has some kick ass treks as well. Martian Desert setting only mere miles away from lush tropical rain forest!! Cotopaxi adventure in Ecuador ranks up there as well.

Attended the 2008 Burning Man Festival in Black Rock City, Nevada.

Celebrated New Years Eve with my two best friends for 11 consecutive years in a different location.

Teach, Learn, Share

The secret to a successful planting is the soil preparation and the hole digging. You need to dig the hole 50% wider than the actual root ball, and only as deep as the root ball. In fact you want the trunk flare to be pronounced above the soil level. (1-2.5" higher) With the soil excavated from the hole, amend with peat moss, top soil, or compost, up to 1/3 of mixture used to backfill can be amendments. Apply a layer of mulch 2 " thick. Plants require 1" of water per week during the growing season.
