About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To rule the world or just get through a day without falling over or bumping into something

ABOUT ME

When I joined this community some time ago I was a happy-go-lucky singleton in 101 Reykjavík with a spare couch and a lust for parties. Then disaster struck and I met a boy. Now I live with him and his 10 year old daughter in the more respectable 105 neighbourhood and am struggling to fit into my new housewife-y mold. Thankfully he cooks and bakes because otherwise none of us would eat.

In my spare time I knit, manage a couple of websites, cook up plans to take over the world, try to teach myself playing the guitar and boogie with my "roomies". Oh and my beau and I are compulsive thrift shoppers so we always have some project or other going on. Plumbers, carpenters and DIY experts are most welcome to stay with us. Only kidding ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host and surf and attend meetings and gatherings. I also praise this website to anyone who may or may not want to listen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is going to sound like a corny cliché but Couchsurfing is like having 500.000 friends that you just haven't met yet. It is in one word amazing.

I've hosted a bunch of cool people and just recently had my first surfing experience that exceeded my most optimistic expectations. I've also met some great people here in Reykjavík that are either locals or expats and made some friends along the way.

Interests

I'm interested in just about anything. My life has not been the same since I discovered all that Google and Wikepedia can do for me and I spend unhealthy amount of time in front of the computer. I make up for it by traveling as much as I can both abroad and within Iceland. I love music, good movies and handbooks on various topics.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite books are not the most important pieces in the literary history but I love them none the less. These books are the Finnish book A wonderful mass suicide by Arto Paasilinna (I'm not sure whether it's been translated into English) and Popular Music by Michael Niemi. I also love Austen's Pride and Prejudice but don't tell anyone.

I'm more on the indie electro side of things when it comes to music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun come up over Angkor Wat on my 27th birthday was pretty spectacular.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you quite a lot about traveling in Iceland. I'd love to learn about photography and how to play the Ukulele
