PHILOSOPHY

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
"It doesn’t interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your heart’s longing.
It doesn’t interest me
how old you are.
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.
(...)
I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.
I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wildness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and
toes without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.
It doesn’t interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see
Beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day.
And if you can source your
own life
from its presence.
I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of
the lake
and shout to the silver of the
full moon,
“Yes.”
It doesn’t interest me
to know where you live
or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and
despair weary and bruised to the
bone and do what needs to be
done
to feed the children.
It doesn’t interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the centre of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.
I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At present mainly by travelling and meeting up people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Started Couchsurfing when I was 19, these are some things I wrote back in that time ;)
- My first real experience was being hosted by a couple of nice people in Helsinki - I immediately understood why are all the people are so enthusiastic about CS
- Surfed in Luxembourg and Amsterdam
- FREEEEE HUUUUGS meeting in Brugge and Amsterdam <3
- Surfed in Paris and went to two meetings - the first was in a great bar but I was so tired after all the sightseeig that it was hard to socialize :P the second I was four hours late but it was really great - a lot of people near the Seine, chatting, music. By the time I got there some people were quite drunk but it was fun and I had nice time with some great guys.
- Surfed and gave free hugs in London!
- Enjoying the wonderful Belgian community - greeeat guys!
- organising awesome mothly fruit-parties (Sweets Strawberry Fields Feast, Big Brugge Banana Boom, Fatasitcly Freaky Freestyle Fruit Fiesta, check out my pics!)
- organised a small Gentse Feeste free hugs action and an Oostende meeting
- hosted 2 nice persons in my small room
- etc etc still in process :)

Into the Wild

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Standing in a circle with people from five continents, all engaged with their full power and potential in creating a better world. Singing and crying with gratitude.

Seeing sunshine on one side of the street, storm and rain on the other one. Rainbow bridging in between.

Standing on my head - took me a couple of months to learn it... ;)

Dancing folk, salsa or tango with someone and falling in love for one song.

and many more...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my passion for dancing. Teach some Afro movements and folk dances.
I can share my self-made jewellery and paintings :)
I can share my knowledge on different non-formal education and community building methods - excercises from deep eceology, Dragon Dreaming and ecovillage design - as well as mural painting, an inspiring form of community arts.
I can share some nice vegetarian/healty raw food recipies.
I would like to learn about different creative initiatives all around the world, I'd like to learn about people and their different ways of getting along in this huge, complex and sometimes rather confusing world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
