About Me

CURRENT MISSION

realizing my dreams

ABOUT ME

Changing the world for the better is important to me, therefor I'm interested in activism and advocacy on political, ecological and agricultural issues.

Things I like to do include cooking (local, organic, veggie), yoga, dancing, singing, swimming, hiking, going to the flea-market. People tell me I talk to loud, but that only means I am in a good mood. People tell me I have an extraordinary laughter, come and see for yourself!

I am grateful for all the chances I have had in my life so far to explore many different avenues.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that it is not necessarily the things we are told to do that will make us happy, but that sometimes we have to travel down a stony road to find out what will make us happy. And I believe it is a good thing to do small things that you have never done before in your life just to see how many possibilities we are given as humans: Move different, eat different, think different, etc. It is good to let the child inside oneself free. Travelling can be a good way to find out that things are not as stuck as they seem to be, but too much tourism could also change the world into a place that we don't want it to become (for more info please visit the CS Group "Travelling without airplanes").

This is an inspiring piece of philosophical advise for me:

Frage dich nicht, was die Welt braucht, sondern frage viel mehr danach, was dich lebendig macht. Dann gehe und tu es, denn die Welt braucht lebendige Menschen.

Don't ask yourself what the world needs, rather ask what makes you feel alive. Then go and do it, because the world needs lively people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sometimes I host, sometimes I get hosted, and sometimes I browse through the CS groups.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a very good surprise in the summer of 2007 when I was not feeling well about people helping me and letting me stay at their house even though they almost did not know me. That kind of experience really can make one believe in humankind!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like watching documentaries, and I also read a lot ever since I was a child.

I am a Jazz and Blues person, I like music from different parts of the world but also the local Wienerlied. I enjoy mantra-singing for the state of consciousness it puts me in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 3 months working on a very traditional cheese-making farm in the Swiss mountains. It was a quite incredible experience and I was happy to learn that kind of farms still exist.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some yoga or how to cook vegetarian food. If you are interested to learn what we can do to safe our mother earth, I love to talk about it - but only if you are interested, I don't believe in evangelizing people.
