About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live my life in service of others, to uplift humanity

ABOUT ME

I am a down to earth, straight forward, open guy who is now on a path to helping others. I see travel as extremely important part of my life education, to broaden my mind. I love nature and feel closest to God when i am surrounding by mountain streams or at the beach, or on an open sea. I have been blessed to live in the best city in the world which has mountains, beach, and everything else you can think of :).

PHILOSOPHY

My goals it to live a life in service of others, the environment and God.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted, and met a number of couchsurfers in South Africa. Have couch surfed in Argentina and Brazil and met for drinks in Bolivia. Have got a lot of people interested in Couch surfing to :).

Interests

Everything to do with the outdoors (camping, hiking, kloofing etc) and sport (gym, squash, rugby, touch rugby), religion (my own is Islam), helping humanity (volunteering at a night shelter for the homeless), friends and family. Oh and i want to learn how to sew, become a better cook and a paramedic

Music, Movies, and Books

I love romantic movies and movies with meaning such as "Who killed the electric car", "Blood Diamond" etc. Also scifi and action. I like books on religion and non-fiction where i can learn something. When it comes to music, books or movies, if its good i will probably like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed the highest freestanding mountain in the world, stood next to an erupting volcano, tubed underground rivers, and kissed a wild crocodile with its mouth wide open, but the most most rewarding thing i have done is helping a person achieve their potential in this life and the most amazing thing i have seen would be watching a family spend time with each other.

Teach, Learn, Share

Don´t just hear, try to really listen. Realise that you cannot be dogmatic in your view as there are many alternative views where people are just as dogmatic. Don´t tell someone, suggest something; dont give an order, ask a question. Respect someones ideas and opinions even if you disagree with them. Appreciate how much we have in common instead of focusing on the little difference. Life is a journey, not a destination, so slow down and enjoy the ride :), oh and finally less is in life is definitely more!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Chile, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mexico, Namibia, Peru, Spain, Swaziland, Tanzania, United Kingdom, Zambia
