About Me

CURRENT MISSION

We (husband and myself) like meeting new people from places afar, and are looking for connections elsewhere that we might use in the future.

ABOUT ME

We're a nurse and a teacher. We're always interested in meeting new people and learning about life from their perspectives. We like to cycle and to hike, by ouselves and with groups. We've gone on bike tours in many states as well as in Cuba. We've travelled in Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Europe as well. Love traveling in the US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Due to family needing to live in our couch space, we have had to pull back from having overnight CS. We really enjoyed them when they were here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had many wonderful CS experiences, in the US, Canada, and in New Zealand and Australia. Always liked being able to play with and walk the dogs wherever we surfed. Enjoyed meeting all the hosts and hearing about the locale.

Interests

We like cycling,Kayaking, reading, especially historical fiction, meeting interestring people from just about anywhere. Jane also has a flock of five chickens in the backyard. They are fun for eggs and have become pets. We also have a neurotic cat.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently saw the film, Boyhood and liked it a lot. We like the John Stuart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher. Currently, we are watching the latest Ken Burn's documentary, The Three Roosevelts. In January, we will be back for another season of Downton Abbey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We climbed to the top of Mt Saint Helens ten years after the eruption, when all trails had been washed away. Got to the edge and couldn't see one damn thing due to the fog. We bought a picture postcard.
Just returned from an over-night on Angel Island, right in the neighborhood in the middle of San Francisco Bay. Kayaked with a group of blind students and guides. The weather was sunny, warm, and the view of SF Bay Area, with the lights twinkling and the bridges aglow was stupendous. For the folks who could see a little it was a thrill and for those who could see nothing, the sight in their mind was said to be spectacular.
Fun way to spend my birthday.
