About Me

Doing that #vanlife and traveling the country in a converted #skoolie named Indy. would love to connect with couchsurfers along the way!

CURRENT MISSION

find balance, make art, see new places and experience new things, keep growing, stop worrying, let life happen, accumulate good stories, be the change i want to see

ABOUT ME

I'm a playwright and actor based in Brooklyn. I love traveling and find it to be one of the things that helps me grow most as a person, the other being art. You can take a look at some of my work at www.dannybryck.com

PHILOSOPHY

I'm working on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great way to travel, and I've always had a blast getting to know people and places through couchsurfing. My most recent major journey abroad was in 2012/13, when I spent 3 months in Palestine/Israel, traveling around and interviewing people for a documentary play. I took a grand tour of Europe in 2008 (Spain, France, Germany, UK, Ireland, Holland, Czech Rep., Turkey, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, Italy) after a semester-long study abroad in London. I had some wonderful couchsurfing experiences on that trip, and also stayed with some old friends, hit up some hostels, and spent the odd night camped out on the sidewalk. More recently I've also surfed around the States a bit and in Montreal. Hopefully I will surf a lot more couches and meet more wonderful people in the future. I also hope to be able host at some point - at the moment I'm not in a position to offer a couch. I've been spreading the good word about couchsurfing to a lot of people I've met in my travels.

survived that trip...

Teach, Learn, Share

I love the idea of this knowledge exchange thing. I can teach acting, music theory, piano, basic guitar maybe, Spanish, English, salsa, argentine tango or lindy hop (a bit out of practice now though). i am also a dialect and speech coach so can give lessons in accents & dialects and dialect reduction / modification.

I want to learn to speak better Arabic. And to play the violin, dance salsa, argentine tango and lindy hop (because i'm out of practice), to cook different cuisines, learn about environmental science, or...?

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Serbia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
