About Me

I love meeting people, love being social, love music, love dancing, love laughter, love Theatre and random creativity loooove Artty stuff, bikes bikes bikes bikes love it, yep do simply adore passion, love multiple cultures times twelve hundred, love learning, love being and being free loves being me. oh and yes finally, love europe!

Well lets start at the start I was born in Camperdown Childrens Hospital in Sydney which was blown up a fair while ago so is a block of expensive flats currently, but hopefully it shall be rebuilt on Earth 2.0 as i have a lot of cherished memorys of this hospital. i know, i know, needles and those hospital gowns but really its not that bad you get free pudding when your a kid.

So i was an insanely energetic hyper-active with the smarts to make it hard to stay uninjured i ended my experiments with new kinds of movements as a kid (for example trees) at the hospital fairly frequently. Until i graduated to adults hospital then university chilled me some what...well it did. do you believe?:)

I lived in Camperdown which is basically Newtown right next to a rather old Cemetary. Still a strange site in the middle area of Sydney. Till i moved to the Byron bay area and an enormous mountain which was mine. Also my one and only terrier mutt sheep dog's territory until I moved away at about fourteen, back to old Sydney town for the Marsfield where i had graduated to chasing horses and throwing water bombs at cars oh and school and mates of course!

Lets skip; the awkward phase to living in canberra and working running a mobile store and then moving into real estate, then after quiting a brief career change to various things. to know where im in finland studying at the moment, the finnish language. whilst working and getting up to the usual skally wag behaviour at bars. and going on berry picking trips, general out doors activity mastermind is a running title used for me.

running real close to where we live, and waiting for summer hot to hit, so to the lake and then the ceromonial screaming when in the water commences. (well im a bloke deep down and deep up as well so i'll probably just whimper like a puppy dog in the freeeezing cold) INSERT image of sauna by lake some one please?..where was i? Oh yeah so running swimming, being a general socialite, CS'ing, IT behaviour :) (you know what i mean!!), guitar, ravishing innocent unread books, and hanging with a certain elvish looking tiny lady finn.

WHO, SO SO Sadly for my ability to stay in OZ, i adore to bits and to wholes as well. Once again if you know me then you know what i mean!!! Thats right my adult laaaadyfriend

ok kiddos here comes the serious condensed synopsis about me.

Easy going Aussie, loves a challenge, fiercly loyal to mates, rather bouyant, enjoys movement and energy and free flowing intuition. especially in converstaions or exchanges of ideas, or northern european cortexal data dumps!! dont ask but certainly fun ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Theres an old Chinese story that once in a tiny rural village next to a large monastery two accolites were quarelling with florid and colourful language, then when it was just igniting into something almost violent , close to being punctuated with knives. A passing monk who heard the firey exchange ran down the hill to them enthusiastically telling them to just

"be happy be happy" :)

not sure if that answered the question but i love that story for its heart and sublimity and simplicity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By offering a fold out bed under a roof in a warm room, and friendly advice (new in citys can be an utterly abhorant time), by helping when and if i can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted alot of people and have joined into alot of events that the local CS community for over a year now here in Tampere but also put together in Dublin (stray foreign cats at Xmas) and Edinburgh, (Freeze in Edinburgh..goooooogle it), and now more recently my home town Tampere (saunas in the oldest still running public sauna in the world!!). Also around South America when i was travelling there for half a hour All the while meeting people i would have had NO CHANCE AT ALL to meet. My experience has reminded me very much of exchange programs we used to do in school. Staying with other families. So overall CS experience has been awful. No no no thats not what i meant to write (is anyone actually reading this anyway ;-). What I meant to write is CS is kinda TOSI TOSI HYVÄÄ/ very very good.

Interests

cats culture outdoors nature cooking languages books cinema music my guitar meditation spirituality bikes herb gardening fitness fine wine interwebbing laughter oooh i am interested in that and of course my native country AUSTRALIA the great south continent and my new un native country finland. oh and i am interested in random synopsis's of my life gathered on social networks that kind a look like one activity but just need some apostrophes in between them.im interested in stopping writing things that i am interested in ...NOW!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ohhh thats a hard one as i seem to do it all a lot but how about i tell you some new ones ah? Or new ones that i would like to add to my ability to read. YEP FINNISH ONES. I know i know i have a ways to go but i'm game.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many too many really to mention with full credit to each and every one. So i shall mention perhaps the most easily over looked one. My parents proud smile to there son!! Thanks dad and mum. Without whom i would have never even have seen my favourite type of sky Blue! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

This is the most spectacular idea to come out of CS as I'm not overly bothered about the money it costs, really to have a new CS mate over and whatever. As long as it is reasonable and vice versa. But the idea of having a chance to learn something new from new cultures is startling in its possibilities. People are incomprehensible always unexpected things happen when you throw them into the mix and always no matter how much you think you know everything throw in something totally unexpected to the mix. As CS offers very high safety measures. The new experiences ain't (in my experience) been scary ones, but fabulous over all. If the student is ready the teacher appears. Any thing can teach you something. Anything at all. I mean come on lets face it staring at a blank wall can burn more energy than watching TV so imagine what you burn up when trying to gesticulate your ideas with only five intelligible words and a torrent of body gestures!! I swear i have translated dictionary's with just an arcane wiggle of my eyebrow and a skip in the step of my walk style and ...oh well you get the idea. Life is beautiful!!
