À propos de moi

I'm a wandering Englishman, currently self employed, having quit my job to do freelance work and travel until I hear the call of the 9-5 again. This has taken me to San Diego for a few months, but now I'm back close to my roots in Oxford.

I figure life's about the experiences you have and the people you meet, and Couchsurfing's a great doorway to those things.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I've met fellow travellers and locals through CS far more than I've actually surfed couches, but I'm happy to do either! I occasionally meet up with Couchsurfers in Bath, as my friend Geoff is the CS ambassador there.
At the moment, I don't have my own place to host in, but some day I will, and I'll start repaying favours as best I can!

The first time I couchsurfed, when I had to stay over in Nottingham for a job interview, I remember thinking, this is how the world should work!
Since them used the CS quite a few times to find friendly souls in foreign lands, and have had many good experiences with cool people.

Centres d'intérêt

Friends. Crazy schemes. General interest in things I can fall off. Climbing rocks and riding bikes top the list.
I like to think I've got a decent sense of adventure. I like exploring forgotten places. Travelling the world, learning new things, getting lost. Sights, sounds, atmospheres!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Irrational hatred of stage musicals. Everything else is cool with me. Particularly liking local band Dizraeli and the small gods at the moment. I play the guitar just well enough to thrash out a few cheesy tunes when the mood takes me!

I read lots of historical and sciency books, and will watch anything by Christopher Nolan.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

After graduation a couple of friends and I flew to Italy and cycled 1000 miles home. Made my ass hurt, but the memories are worth it!

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I'm a bit of a Mr Fixit, fairly handy with a screwdriver. I like cooking, and am always happy to share the results! And I never lose a game of noughts and crosses.
