About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to make friends from all over the world

ABOUT ME

for most of the year I have a 9-5 job at the university working in biological research position. during the week I go to the gym or to various meetings in Vancouver. I volunteer part-time at a local women's centre.
On weekends I try to get up into the local mountains if the weather is nice, but if it's not (which is not unusual here), I usually hang out at home or go out with friends; I like checking out local music at these little coffee shops around town; also I like modern dance and the opera, so if I have any extra cash after my last trip, I spend it on stuff like that.

PHILOSOPHY

I really like meeting new people and enjoy people from all walks of life; I'm very interested in different cultures as well I'm extremely curious about different religious and spiritual paths or practices.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Big cities, especially in North America, can be quite impersonal. The additional expenses of accommodations can be restrictive to many people. I think travel is a type of education which everyone should be able to afford. If you already have a place to stay in Vancouver and just want some company while you're here, feel free to contact me. I also try to get out hiking on the weekends so if you'd like to join me for that you are most welcome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

not much, I usually stay at hostels when I travel but I've hosted a number of people...

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all types of music; right now I'm listening to a lot of Jamaican steel drums as well as a wide variety of Iranian music; also love anything with heavy or prolonged guitar solos :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

wow there are so many, but most of them have to do with being in nature.-some examples would be hiking Bryce Canyon in Utah, backpacking trip in Garibaldi Park, also winter camping for the first time; night-snowshoeing through the forest on a clear night.
