Hi! My name is Matt and I love to explore! I am happiest when I'm mixed up in some crazy adventure with unknown outcomes. I'm currently going to grad school in Cleveland, OH. Which is cool because I get paid to make robots! Fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My girlfriend and I host as often as possible. When things get hectic we shut down the couch. But, even then, we're still down to give you some insider tips or maybe just hang out. Also, I am a student at Case Western Reserve University. So, if you want some insider information on the university, let me know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's not about the free couch, it's all about all the amazing people you meet along the way. I've had so much fun surfing across the USA and hosting here in Cleveland. Also, I've met some amazing people through the CS meetups!

Interests

I love reading, playing music, listening to music, cooking, biking, sleeping. I love to backpack and rock climb as well.
Right now I'm really interested in biologically inspired robotics! So, if you are a robot or a friend to robots, feel free to pay me a visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I just read Jitterbug Perfume! Loved it! Anything that could be described as wacky, I'll probably like.
I enjoy indie rock, blues, rock, house, disco, new wave, punk, jazz, older country and bluegrass, rap and hip hop. Also, I have a special place in my heart for Bob Dylan. Oh, and I like to dance to Ke$ha! Don't judge!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Waking up at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and making breakfast with water from the Colorado River with my best friends on my birthday comes to mind... Pretty much every second I've spent in the canyons of southern Utah and northern Arizona have been amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm kind of an Origami master. I also like to play the guitar, piano, harmonica and tambourine. I'd love to learn some more blue riffs and how to play slide guitar. Also, I'd love to host some native German speakers in order to practice my German. It's gotten quite rusty over the years, though. :(

Also, if you are interested in robotics, hobby electronics, or "maker" type stuff in general, I would love to collaborate! Who wants to build a tube amp?!
