About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To think of a new mission.
ABOUT ME
I am a Chinese-Filipino American from Hawaii. I've lived in various parts of China for nearly 11 years. I recently returned from a two year stint in Hawaii to Xi'an, China. Xi'an is the first city that I've lived in that is no where near an ocean. It is also the first Chinese city that I've lived that is north of the Yangtze River so this is the first year I've dealt with snow in as many years.
Other cities I have lived in are Haikou, Zhuhai, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Nanjing. I've also lived in Nagasaki, Japan for 6 months while in college.
PHILOSOPHY
Practice makes perfect but perfect practice makes perfection!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I made a donation. I've also attended three CS meetings so far.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm not comfortable with the idea of staying in a stranger's home. When I travel I tend to stay with friends or in a hotel. I like my privacy and freedom to go where I want when I want. But I do enjoy meeting people for a meal or sightseeing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teaching in China is the most amazing thing I've ever done.
I also have to FORCE myself to take my traditional Chinese medicine(TCM). It is a mixture of deer horn, ginger root, various natural herbs, and dead snake skin! This is all for my own skin of course. If there ever was a "Fear Factor" show filmed in Xi'an, China, I'd pass the test!
I've also just survived my second major earthquake. The first one was a 6.5 to 6.8 tremor in Hawaii in Oct. 2006. I hope NOT to experience another one!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to meet Chinese outside my school who don't speak English. I don't get too many opportunities to use my Chinese since I work at a language school and must speak English all the time. Also, can anyone teach me how to crochet?
On the teaching side I can teach Chinese how to cook Western food! I taught my students how to make pizza and it was DELICIOUS!
