About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to go everywhere, see everything, and meet everyone!

ABOUT ME

I am a very active guy and I love trying new things and meeting new people. I am trying to see more of what this crazy world has to show me. Until recently, I was doing research towards my PhD in plant biology at Cornell University and running an awesome little cocktail and whisky bar in town. I love cooking, gardening, reading, board games, coffee. I am all about being comfortable, so anyone that stays with me will be made the same, Buda-style.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in being truthful to yourself and others. I try to live my life in a comfortable manner. I like to be self-sufficient and expand my experiences whenever the opportunity presents itself. I call this living "fancy." This is not the normal definition of this word, but it is mine!

Interests

I love being outdoors and I am a serious rock and ice climber, winter camper, mountaineer, and hiker. I was also an assistant instructor in the korean martial art of hapkido; I have taught many self-defense seminars on my free time. For entertainment, I enjoy playing guitar and juggling (if you ask, I may just show ya). I am passionate about plants and I love seeing all of the amazing ways people utilize them. This includes food, so I thoroughly enjoy ethnic cuisine of all kinds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

summer 2008: after hitchhiking down to the southwest coast of scotland with gabrielle, we ended up sleeping in a tree in the faslane peace.camp on scotlands nuclear submarine base.

new years 2008/2009: I was 100 miles into the sahara desert. I celebrated the turning at a Berber camp in the middle of the dunes, and I spent the night on the sand in my sleeping bag under the most beautiful stars I have ever seen in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you more about alcohol than you ever wanted to know. Beer, whisk(e)y, wine, how they are made, the chemistry of flavor, etc.

You can teach me anything you are passionate about! I love to learn.
