About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rock that shit!!

ABOUT ME

I love life yo! The smallest things excite and fascinate me. I love to learn and share what I know. I'm always curious and always thinking and pondering and wondering and thinking and hmmmmmmming and pondering and ......
Right now I'm on a journey to figure out just how I'm going to save the world (Do I need spandex and a cape for that?). And Sea Shanties. I LOVE sea shanties!!

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmmm. Never stand in one place too long - perspective is too valuable. Oh yes, and laugh as much as possible. Yes, very important that one!
And awareness. Awareness is key.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I've officially had my first couch surfer and holy shnikies batman was he cool!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just had my first true CS experience. Definitely the way to travel!

Interests

Music, music, ummm music. I really enjoy carving (though I haven't had the right scene to do anything in a while, but I'm feelin the itch again.). I LOVE the ocean. My Grandma lives on a lake so I grew up spending the summer practicing my mermaid skills. I love octopuses, they are just CRAZY creatures! And skunk cabbage! Did you know that they create their own heat to keep from freezing in the winter? I mean seriously! How cool!

Can't be caught indoors for too long or I go a little rummy. Though, where other people love to ski, and climb, and bike, I generally just like to be outdoors and explore. If that includes any of the above, then rock on...but mostly I like to just be. Actually, what really makes me happy is playing in the dirt - anything involving shovels really. Planting things, digging, building things, invasive specie removal. I like to do what I can to help nature, not just use it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oy, this question is always a doosey. I really love music. Pretty much all kinds. Movies, too. OOOO especially old movies from back in the day. Though I do love to read, I have some super fabulous learning disabilities that hinder me a bit. It takes so long for me to plow throughout the suckers I rarely have time (I know, excuses, excuses) so I read mostly fluff (wah wah wahhhhh).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have had the opportunity to be an Emergency First Responder with the Washington Conservation Corps after Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, and the Groundhog day Tornadoes. I've worked in New Orleans, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama. It completely changed the way I think about myself and peoples lives and the world around me.

Teach, Learn, Share

The thing that I share the most is my laughter. I laugh A LOT!! You've got a dumb joke? Send it my way!! I also tend to be a very passionate person. I get excited over the smallest stuff - and it tends to be catching =). I love learning about other people. Story swapping over a good meal is one of my faaaav-orite things (insert Julie Andrews singing jubilantly in the background here)! Let's see, things I can teach. I think the best I have to offer is my perspective. Constantly changing and evolving with where I go and who I meet, and the best I can hope to acquire is the same from others. (wow, I didn't mean for that sound as ridiculously corny as it did. But I meant it all none the less.)
