About Me

Positive, spontaneous dreamer who loves people, art and culture along with the many other blessings life has to offer. Every day is a gift and giving is better than receiving.

COUCHSURFING 101

I have been in couchsurfing for almost ten years and have hosted, been hosted, traveled, hosted parties, meet up and attended meetings with hundreds of surfers. Coushsurfing culture and ideals are part of my life and the best invention of the last decade. It is however changing and the quantity of people doing it (and airbnb) for monetary considerations has sometimes changed the quality of what is meant to be a "couchsurfer". I know what I want in a host and surfer and most people are still there for the right reasons, but as I receive dozen of requests per week, I will choose only the best ones.

I accept people with no reference and no friend BUT if you are serious about CS and do not just want to create a profile before your trip to save money and not use it for months after when you are back home, you need to invest real effort and paradigm shift in your life. Couchsurfing is a tool, but also an ATTITUDE towards travel, trust, life and other people. Everyone should be ready to host or meet up in their city and if you have no refrence it is probably because you never bother to attend a local event to meet surfers, meet someone for coffee or activity, anything - something simple...

Be awesome and the best version of yourself. Good Couchsurfing can help nurture that. I don't want average surfing, I give my best and expecet the same. I treat my couchsurfers like my friends, so I disllike LAST MINUTE CANCELATION and all the other things I hope you would not do to a friend you hold dear.

If you want more advise on how to get the best out of couchsurfing, ask me.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy every moment as much as possible. See the beautiful in everything. Share as much as possible.

"Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends."
-Maya Angelou

"Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living."
-Miriam Beard
