About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

If I could, I'd be always on the road !
What can I say ? I can be shy at first, but I usually warm up quickly when you get to know me.
Umh, I'm a positive person, and curious to discover everything (not nosy though) in the sense that I'm interested in many things, especially new things I don't know about, weither international politics, or any stupid everydaylife trick.
I'll be the one tasting the weird food if no one dares.
I think being different is very valuable, as long as it doesn't trouble people that matter to oneself.

I'm more the kind of outdoors person. (Can't stay locked up indoors for two days.)
I LOOOVE travelling, meeting open minded and hearted people,
I'm curious for differences and sharing life's and travel's experiences.

I've travelled a lot for my age.....umh, let's see....I've been to Marocco x2, Kenya x2, Zambia (just Victoria Falls) , Cameroon, Namibia, Botswana, Madagascar, Perou, Indonesia (Flores, Bali, Lombock), United States (San Francisco, Philadelphia), Spain, Italy (Napoli), Ireland, England, Belgium, Switzerland....

I definitely appreciate going out (dancing, pubs...)

I've seen how short a life can be...so I really think it's a waste to be afraid to live fully, and always push back what you could now.

My greatest regret about doing med'studies is to have to give up my explorating-globetrotting dream...at least for 2 more years !

For the "I don't like" part :
computer games, burger food, staying in too much, lack of green (plants, forest...)

PHILOSOPHY

Sharing travelling stories, travelling around the world, meeting people from all around the world is the richest education I can think of.

Live fast, die old. U live only once. I'll sleep when i'm dead.

A city is more than just buildings, to truely visit a place, you have to meet and live de local people's life, to feel it's spirit and rythme of life.
That's the way I try to travel.

Happiness has no meaning without the existence of unhapiness...

Trust your instincts....especially feminine one.

The true traveller doesn't know where he's going./Le vrai voyageur ne sait pas où il va. (proverbe chinois.)

Il n'y a d'homme plus complet que celui qui a beaucoup voyagé, qui a changé vingt fois la forme de sa pensée et de sa vie." (Lamartine)

Le corps de l'homme est bien petit par rapport

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

SORRY, I CAN'T HOST ANYONE THIS YEAR (living IN the hospital where I work...)

In your couchsearch message, you'll have to show that you've read my profile ('cause there are many "copied-paste" messages...)
Otherwise, I can host during the week and week ends. I prefer one week delay for couchrequests but I won't be able to answer if you're asking one month in advance (I can't plan that much in advance...).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted 3 times (several people), couchsurfed 7 times (England, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Argentina)...had a wonderfull time meeting amazing people !!!! Still in contact with some of them.

Interests

Traveling around the world, back packing...
Spirituality (ies), Meditation
Cultural exchange (what an elaborated expression ! lol)
Tango (dancing and paying violin)
Nature and its mystery.
Photography , Horseriding, kite-surfing, snowboarding
Young and crazy city life...you know you're in it when your legs are hurting before evening, when you realise a month's just passed when your hair's far too long, when you have to change your shoes'heels every month (which should definitely include more than 24h a day !)...
Everything that's got "africa" in it, weither pink or black...
International volunteering, workcamps, ONG stuff and development
International politics (though, don't know much about it)
Going out to the pub
Getting lost...the unknown, adventure...
Cooking strange and exotic stuff
Music, dancing (or more pretending to dance...really), movies...
Books (I'm like a kid in a candy store when I find myself in a bookstore...it's hard to make me leave within the next hour.)

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies : let's say any movie which comes as a real shock, that you're not going to forget quickly, that defends a cause. The kind of movie that's not gonna leave you the same (or at least in the next days). For exemple :
Eat, Pray, Love
Las olvidades de Juarez, A mighty heart, Lord of war, The bucket list, Babel, Memories of a Geisha, Vas, vis et deviens, Lord of the ring, La vità è bella, Sin novelas de Dios, most movies by Woody Allen and Myasaki, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Garden State, Into the wild

Books : emh, can't think of all, let's just mention Africa Treck (A. Poussin), Pieds nu sur la terre rouge, La massaï blanche, La nuit des temps de Barjavel, Harry Potter, Phaenomen, His dark materials, by P.Pullman

Music : very eclectic, from James Blunt and modern stuff like Aerosmith, Alicia Keys, Radiohead, Dido, Timbaland, Feist, Mika)...to traditional african vocals, gospel...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen ? Let's start with the human body, it's incredible how such a complex thing can resist.....so many and various situations!

And for some crazy stuff I've gone through :
everyday I work in hospital, falling in love, Almost drowning in the Zambeze river, escaping shortly an adult crocodile. (in Zambia), Skydiving from a rusty airplane in Namibia with no advice whatsoever (was the equipment safe ?!?!?!!!)....mind'ya, that was owesome !!!! It felt like flying, Eat a worm (alive) in the amazonian forest, Chew Coca leaves during 5 days non stop in Perou, Climb a 2000m high volcanoe straight (whatever the slope) starting at 2 am with 2 hours of sleep, a cup of coffee and one banana in the stomach. (in Indonesia), Giving birth to 2 twin-baby goats without a vet' in Kenya, Walk and ski in the Alps during 12 hours NON STOP when I was only 14 years old, into the wild, Explain about sexuality, puberty, female orgasm and the usefullness of "preliminairs" in a coranic school, veiled in front of 60 veiled women and men....and being applauded after !!!!!! (in Cameroun)

Teach, Learn, Share

Have everything to learn, though, would gladly share volunteering and traveling experiences.

Sharing ? Some proverbs like : "In Africa, a bus is NEVER full!!" "In modern countries, we have watches, but in Africa they have time!"

I'd like to learn how you can choose where to travel when it's your last opportunity before a long time....

I can teach some french or exotic cooking. (ex : chapati from Kenya, Tchaï tea from India, Maki from Japan, Cheesecake from england, Mafé from Burkina Faso....)

hem, I can teach French (what a surprise !!!!!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ghana, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Madagascar, Martinique, Morocco, Namibia, Peru, United States, Zambia

Countries I’ve Lived In
