About Me

Hello there, I´m Kristýna :)

For more than 10 years, I´ve been really into Latin America, professionaly, academically as well as personally.
I did my bachelor´s in spanish and portuguese philology and my master´s in latinamerican history. I spent 3 years in Mexico, traveled repetadly around Central America and just got back from a 6 months trip on my own around South America. I also write a blog about Mexico. I mean... Latin America is my real passion :D

The immigration and integration of foregingers field, that´s my topic (and job) : I coordinate and lecture workshops on inmigration and integration for high school students, and I´m also a lecturer of integration-adaptation courses for immigrants.

I like trying new things, getting to know new places, meeting new people. Anthropology and traveling (abroad and out of my comfort zone as well) tought me to eager to learn more about what life can be elsewhere, and also to question what "normality" is. Ecology, sustainability, zerowaste, homemade food&cosmetics, being a participative citizen are some of the things I try to insert into my daily life.

I´m on a long-term inner journey of finding out how to live in a sustainable, free and (at the same time) responsable way. Not easy, but I´m on it :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been hosted and shown around by locals (from CS and outside of it too) so many times during my travels, that Im just trying to pay back this eternal debt I have towards the univerese :)
