About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Sweet unconditional love. Like a mother and her baby.

ABOUT ME

My middle names are Peter and Alfred. I like adventures. I will take the alley before the main boulevard. I love trees but I couldn't name a favourite because I am ignorant to most of the world. I am humbled by this.

PHILOSOPHY

I don't exactly have a life philosophy, but I often mull over a conundrum for months time. Maybe they'll come together?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a firm believer that CS and other open-source, collaborative internet initiatives can change the world. We are all share the same basic goodness. The simple act of participation in the CS network is what will break down the mind-made roadblocks and let compassion through. And I am glad to be part of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tried couch surfing for the first time with my two friends on a road trip going home from school in Halifax, Canada. We were travelling to Quebec City, Montreal, New York and then Hamilton/Peterborough. We had friends and family in every city except Quebec, so we tried couchsurfing. We stayed with some students from Laval near the old city. Their hospitality was amazing as they showed us around the city, despite it being about -15C.

Funny experience: opening my eyes in the morning for the first time to the sound of bells. With my blurry vision, I watched what looked like a jester (hat, make-up, colourful costume) sneaking by, trying not to disturb us. When he noticed he had woken me up, he croaked "Bonjour" with a gargled, strained voice. I went back to sleep in disbelief, in some fatigued form of hysterics. In the morning, I found out he was working as Santa's elf at a mall. He had a sore throat and was losing his voice.

I'm sure many more stories to come.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by Vonnegut at the moment. New interest in Russian literature. Independent cinema of any origin. Particular affinity to Scandinavian cinema, but that's because I miss the place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Human compassion.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like watching people cook. While I watch, I learn.
I can teach things, but I'm not sure what. Perhaps some English? Beyond this, I think every interaction is unique and what we learn from the other is what we choose.
