When I grew up, every summer my folks drove us around Finland for weeks on end. We would stay in camping sites, cheap hotels and so on... and I hated it. I hated that we never went abroad, except for a few times on these lame cruises. This traumatic childhood set a fire in me to explore the world further. So far I have managed to circle most of Europe a few times over, Morocco, India and USA.

My other goal in life is to make films that would inspire people the same way they have done for me. I set up a film production company with my friends as soon as I graduated school and now we've been active for almost ten years. I've done a bunch of short films, music videos and commercial stuff, but my biggest dream is still ahead, directing a feature film.

Overall I have been told I'm a positive and fun guy, who is great company. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, it's like reading a good book.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First I tried it out as a joke as the idea of hosting random people sounded hilarious. I was right, it was a lot of fun, but also educating. I think by couchsurfing you can easily reach a deeper level of experience when traveling. And when hosting you can help someone have that, plus it can be refreshing to see your home town in a new light through the eyes of your guests.
