Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love showing people around in Taipei and sharing my passion about my little island Taiwan! So I would very much like to explore the world with a local on Couchsurfing to know their passion of life as well!

(I'm terribly sorry that I can't host now, cuz I am currently in Canada for the extraordinary working holiday experience!!!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My very first couchsurfing experience was actually before Couchsurfing: I stayed with a friend's friend back in 2007 in Chicago. He was busy with school but he managed to show me around and show me the city through his point of view, which I really appreciated! That was a great first and made me realize the best part of travelling was the people I met on the journey. Then all the following experiences are just awesome! And it feels wonderful to have friends all over the world! :)

Interests

-When I was in college, my English lit professors introduced me the greatness of literature. It teaches me life, and the internal struggles, empathy, disorientation, sufferings when I was too young to actually experience them.

-I care about the environment and love our planet. Let's reduce, reuse, and recycle! I believe even one person can make a difference!

-When I was in Indiana as an exchange student, I realized the best way to know one's self is to be in a different culture. That's when I started to become passionate about travelling. I am always curious about people in different cultures, how they think and how they view the world.

-I like to go to rock concerts, classical music performances, drama and theater when I have time. I was there when Carreras and Pavarotti visited Taiwan, and have seen several Broadway shows in NYC, London, and Taipei.

-I like people and places with stories. So historical sites are always on top of my list when travelling! I also enjoy festivals where I get to celebrate with locals!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music like Radiohead, Jason Mraz, Justin Timberlake, and Chopin; I love movies like the Godfather Trilogy, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, and Toy Story; and I really love books like The Little Prince, The Canterbury Tales, Hear the Wind Sing (Haruki Murakami), and Taipei People (PAI Hsien-yung).

I like music that blows me away and movies that make me ponder or for a good belly laugh!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled across the States in 2012 from Seattle to Phoenix, Indianapolis, Louisville, Columbus, DC, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Philly, NYC, and then finally to Boston mostly through couchsurfing! (Thanks to all my amazing hosts!!!)

Now I am travelling across Canada and would appreciate my future wonderful hosts to make it happen!!! :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a very cool (prolly silly as well) tongue twister in Mandarin! HAHA!

And I would like to learn EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am far from great but I am able to cook a simply Taiwanese meal for you. :)
