About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To put it short and simply... my mission is to learn how to live life happily and make as many connections and wanderings as possible before it's all over.

ABOUT ME

Retooling the about me. Updates required after many years. The gist is below:

- I love figuring out the how of the world. I am a scientist, and I find just about every facet of the universe fascinating.

- Give me the opportunity, and you'll find me outside on hiking trails.

- I love my vices, especially good coffee, beer, wine, and bourbon.

- I also love moderation :) [see above]

- I am a professional planetary scientists/astronomer. My primary research goal is to understand the origin and evolution of the Solar System.

- Go Science!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is pretty simple once you let go of all the complications and allow things to come naturally and be appreciative of it all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Through the Couch Surfing project, I'm hoping to make friends from all manners of life... different cultures, backgrounds, mentalities... pretty much most anything. I also would be more than happy to host people whenever possible and show them what the desert of the Southwest of the United States has to offer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've used Couchsurfing to travel through parts of France, which was just simply amazing and full of amazing people. Couchsurfing also helped me while I shuttled myself between New Mexico and Tennessee during graduate school.

My real Couchsurfing joy, however, has been hosting. My path has crossed many amazing people, and we have shared many amazing stories with each other.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This question is too hard.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach... it doesn't matter if it's just small things I've picked up along the way in my life, or teaching in an academic setting. If I know something and think it's cool, usually someone is going to hear about it :)
