ABOUT ME

Share and change. I'm as relaxed and open-minded as I found out it was necessary to be to realize most problems you encounter are ficzions ov yor miiiind! And when they're not, the very same relaxed and open-minded attitude can usually get rid of them, easy. Complaining doesn't help, so I only do it if I think it can make for good conversation.

I'm also the kind of freak nice guy who apologizes when you make a mistake and happily trusts anyone who hasn't repeatedly hit me in the face. What can I say.

I never know what to do with my hands. It's really embarassing. I tend to stick them in pockets or place them somewhere on my face to simulate deep thought. I think it would be unfair if you met me before being warned.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by some kind of philosophy I guess, but rarely take the time to wrap words around it. It's all about change, nothing being absolute and not labeling things, I'd say. I do love to have someone take up the challenge of wrenching some out of me though.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got helped out sooo many times when I was in dire need, by sheer luck and goodness of heart from absolute strangers, I strongly feel it is my turn now. I won't always be able to host you, but when I can, I will.

Also, I'll make a point of being as nice and honest a guest as can be. I cook. Occasionally it's not deadly.

Interests

Everything that is not directly related to cooking asparagus.

Especially animation, drawing, tap dancing, and above all else, travelling. I'm not a huge fan of flying, so I've focused on crossing countries and continents by bicycle or hitch-hiking (since I don't drive). Now I'm hooked on crossing oceans on sailboats. Riding magic turtles is next.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: hooked on science fiction of late; swashbuckling is an all-time favorite style and historical novels rate pretty high as well.
music: pretty much any style, with emphasis on blues, folk, rock of any kind, classical, old french songs and original soundtracks. Bob Dylan is a personal religion.
Movies: strong emphasis on animated movies (what can I say, it's a passion as well as a profession), but pretty much anything apart from that (even bad movies).

Sleeping in a cave on the ridge of a valley in a natural park during a thunderstorm in Australia.

Transatlantic crossing 2010-11 in a really, really slow boat.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I could teach you how to make the meanest chili con carne eva'. Or the basics of juggling. Or the principles of animation. Some jokes abou the French. Even more jokes about the Belgian. The proper way to serve and drink belgian beer.

And I cannot name limits to what I'd love to learn. Currently working on my thai massage skills, sailing, writing, giant robot driving and quoting from unknown sources.
