About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying life as much as possible, start an improv school/theater in Hamburg, travel and play improv around the world.

ABOUT ME

NOTE: Please don't send me a friend request if I don't know you.
Being friends on this platform basically means that I am vouching for you as a good person and I will only do that if I know and like you.
Anything else would be unfair to the people you connect with on here.

I am a german girl, who wants to see the world. Thankfully I make friends anywhere I go, but I like that with Couchsurfing I often start the friendship before even arriving at my destination.
I like to be in the ocean, dance, draw, read, sing, act, be around children, make people laugh (not all of these professionally - yet). I like things that taste good, feel good, look good, smell good, sound good...
I hate injustice. As long as it doesn't compromise myself I try to make people feel good about themselves because there are too many things that pull us down in life.
Some of my flaws are: I can be lazy, I am a bit of a perfectionist, I am very picky with food (I don't WANT to be, I just don't like a lot of things). I sometimes tend to whine, but I try not to do that too obviously :)

Well that should give a scoop into my personality

PHILOSOPHY

Strangers are friends I haven't met yet!
I have always very much lived that motto :)
I have made experiences (on here and off) that have shaken this up a bit, but I'm trying not to let that get me down. I do like viewing the world through a positive lense.

Everything that helps you grow from the inside is good.
But still, try to be as happy as possible without hurting anybody.
I only live once, so I should take as many risks and make as many mistakes as possible! I still try to stay responsible though...
(I wrote this before I knew about the word "yolo". Just thought you should know that)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Together with a nice little group of Couchsurfers I organized the first big CS event/invasion in Hamburg (HHUP12) where about 250 amazing people attended. It was a great weekend and I am looking forward to participating in and organizing more events like this one :)
Ever since that weekend I have hosted a few people and had an over all good experience with it.
UPDATE: The second CS invasion HHUP 2013 is now over and was just as big a success as the one before! I am glad I found so many friends through CS and it is so much fun to organize and enjoy these events with them!
UPDATE2: The third and forth invasion (HHUP 2014 and HHUP2015) are done and were just as great ;)

I have a roommate (also a couchsurfer), so if you wanna sleep here it would be good if you ask early enough to give us some time to sort things out. Even if I can't host, I am always open for coffee etc. when I am in town.
I definitely enjoy meeting people from all over the world and can show you around hamburg.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- HHUP12, 13, 14 and 15 were awesome events.
- Hosting has been over all ok (haven't had that many surfers here yet though)
- 5 days in London with the same host. It was great and I want to repeat it :) (He was my first real CS experience. I also liked that I could stay with him for so long and didn't have to pack my things every other day to move...)
- 3 months traveling through the US whilst couchsurfing (4 hosts in NY, 1 in Chicago)

(I have had one or two bad experiences after that but I'm trying to not let that ruin it for me!)

Also over the past years I have been making a lot of friends through the CS community in my city and I am very glad about that :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Across the Universe, Thelma and Louise, Se7en, Lucky # Slevin The Theory of Everything, oh there are a lot good movies.
The Harry Potter books are great! But - just like the movies, music and TVShows - there are also a lot of good books. "KITERUNNER" is definitely one of them. If you haven´t read it yet, go and get it right now!!!
Music, hm, I just love music. What I don't like so much is electronic music. I like a lot of the music from the 60's and 70's, musical soundtracks and some (German) hip hop.
I am into watching TV-shows. I love Friends. Other than that: Sherlock, iZombie, New Girl, Smash, Hustle, Misfits, yeah, there are too many (and always different ones) to name them all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen: The Grand Canyon when I was 12. The Eiffel-tower when I was 16 and 21.
Done: I helped forming the character of two little girls, which was sort of amazing to me (5 month in Spain as an aupair).
Both: Traveled through the US for 3 months on my own and without anything booked except my flight back home and tickets to a sketch show. Had very little money and only spent 10 nights in a hostel/motel (Yay couchsurfing!). I have seen many amazing things (Niagara Falls, New York, San Francisco, Highway 1), met great people and made experiences I wouldn't want to miss!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn from other people's experiences and I can teach them mine. Just sharing your knowledge and your thoughts.
Hm, in particular I can teach: speaking German, reading, writing... what do you want? I'm a school teacher ;) Well, I'm sure we could find something.
I would like to learn: playing the Ukulele, sign-language... and we'll find some more there too :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Every person can bring out something different in me. Let's see what out connection brings!
