About Me

CURRENT MISSION

keep going

ABOUT ME

Somewhat restless, but also very much at peace. I suppose just hungry for life. I want to experience as much of it as I can while I'm alive. I'm rather curious and interested in the way people live and feel and think and function and what they choose to do with their lives.

I very much enjoy learning and changing my mind.

I'm an architect, but I currently work as a graphic designer and English teacher. Once upon a time, drawing, photography, reading, listening, and travelling seemed like what I wanted to do with my life. Actually, it still does.

PHILOSOPHY

1. 'Hold your beliefs lightly. Belief is a sign of a closed mind.'
2. 'Life shrinks and expands in proportion to one's courage.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a bed/couch/floor free for anyone in want or in need and I deeply appreciate any time that I am offered one :)

Also, if no couch is needed, I`d be more than happy to meet you and roam around the city for a bit.

Interests

I mainly enjoy wrapping my brain around various questions. Music, books, art, dance, vegetarian food / cooking, walking and cycling through the city are also welcome delights.
I do my best to cultivate a sense of spontaneity. finding the most unlikely things and falling in love with them unexpectedly.

Music, Movies, and Books

Alamar. Crin Blanc Le Cheval Sauvage. Beginners. The Thin Red Line. Amelie. Stranger Than Fiction. Fish Tank. Billy Elliot. Cidade de Deus. Sin Nombre. Lost in Translation. Heaven.

I also really enjoy The Simpsons and various TV series although I don't own a TV.

Books: food for thought type of things. There's too much to list. My books are aplenty, my bookshelves weak. I regret to say I don't read quite as much as I used to though.

Music: too much to list... almost anything and everything lately...I used to hate dance music and now I love it. I used to love metal and now it mostly makes me go 'eh.' New 'classical'/experimental (Olafur Arnalds, Yann Tiersen, Efterklang), 40's and 50's jazz, old blues and indie-like (The National, Interpol, Editors, etc.) seem to be somewhat of a constant...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

slept in the morning dew next to the highway under a 'beware of mountain lions' sign. that wasn't the plan when we started. processed in the dia de los muertos procession. met people I never imagined meeting and loving and yet. found myself where I never imagined myself going and yet - surprised myself times and again. the best is yet to come.
