About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get lost in the world and truly find ourselves

ABOUT ME

Create your own visitor map!

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Yea, I know it's corny, but it's true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Though we can't host, we try to post and meet fellow hosts, we share stories and point the way when possible. We've lived in Seattle for over 17 years and have a lot of local knowledge.

There is so much to see and do that you'll want to stay in Seattle for a month.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've been with CouchSurfing about a year now and have met some really great people by not only hosting, but just by meeting up with travelers and fellow hosts here in Seattle and will be excited to meet other people once we begin traveling in August 2009.

Interests

Right now our biggest interest is saving $$ for travel. Christine spent last summer in SE Asia, and we're planning on spending some time in Puerto Rico this summer.

Otherwise:

outdoor activities
(hiking, swimming, kayaking, almost anything around water)
riding bicycles
traveling
live music
chill bars/pubs
Paul loves spicy food, Christine does not

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately, a lot of Lonely Planet and travel blogs.
Non Fiction - truth is indeed stranger than fiction!
As we've traveled through SE Asia, we've read a lot of sad histories and biographies from Vietnam and Cambodia

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was late to get my passport and begin traveling. My first trip outside of the US was to Guatemala to visit Christine, who was there traveling for the summer.

I walked out of the terminal, into a new world. A world whose language i didn't speak and whose money I didn't possess.

Man, that was a scary/exciting/nervous/invigorating feeling that rushed over me!

That was when I officially got bitten by the travel bug.

Teach, Learn, Share

We've been traveling for almost a year on this trip and have been exposed to numerous cultures and geographies. We have a lot of information we can share.
We're always excited to be in new places and learn new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Keep a stack of current bus schedules and those free local tourist maps for your surfers.

Get some local photography books (half-price books and Amazon are great sources).
