I fancy myself to be sensitive, intelligent, kind.

I haven't always walked the beaten path, yes I live by rules (anarchy can be exhausting and disorienting, been there)but I set them :)

I'm also an advocate of being natural (as contradictory as that is) So I can be VERY expressive, straightforward, given to indulging what I naturally feel or need. I mask only so as not to hurt.

What moves me? In a word that would have to be 'beauty'. In its varied presentations-so yes the evident kind as in the spread of a vista or the swell of a belly but also the less tangible, like the turn of a phrase or the tight taut presentation of an idea through words.

The above might suggest a sensual person, but I'm very emotional and fairly intellectual too-some of my best times have been in conversation-when I can dip deep and hold hands way down there...

I havent been to many places in the world-I couldnt afford it until now. But with the limited experience I do have I think , for me atleast, as much as places might be about its buildings and and its art galleries, they are also so much about the 'stories' that 'insiders' have to tell you :)

I love other kinds of stories as well-books and movies.And used to wonder why people have to GO anywhere when they have books (more than movies) at hand. Even so, I love places-streets, houses, towers and bridges. (I react to houses like I do to people-some I like, some I dont).

I'd love to meet sensitive interesting people who'll tell me stories and listen to the ones I've got to tell them :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful. Felt amazed at how much people gave of themselves (this more than anything else). Have come back from travels a more trusting, generous person. With somber intentions of being nicer to people (both strangers and otherwise; until it lasts)

Oh and all that exposure to lives- rich and varied, earnest and striving, that's neat too. :)

Interests

Books, films (who doesn't?), the outdoors (hills more than the ocean), conversations, food, poetry.

and more than anything else...PEOPLE! Its funny though, I'm not much of a party person :( and really dont like going out much in groups, also have this incredible urge to get away from all people fairly periodically. But for all that, as a category 'people' still remain my single most engaging interest of all time ('animals' come in a close second)

Its not as though book and movies are a hobby with me-am sure I'll die if I dont 'get any'. (update 2010-2011): the above is true. Last year was all work, no books and films. It killed me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well if there is an Indian store nearby, I could get stuff and cook South Indian for you (and what YOU might have had of Indian food is typically north Indian).

I'm an exceptionally open person-held back only by a fairly good appreciation of what social etiquette allows :) So if are the kind that likes people and going deep into their psyches, well it could be fun sharing.
