About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I live in Tucson, Arizona.

I am on summer vacation (teachers say what!) and spending it on the East Coast.

ABOUT ME

In my world, everyone's a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop butterflies
-Horton Hears a Who

PHILOSOPHY

When you look back at good memories you always think about specific moments that made you smile. I live for thoes moments. Though looking at the larger picture is important to make intelligant connections and decisions, for myself it is most important to cherish the chain of moments that are so fucking fabulous.

Music, Movies, and Books

books: I like reading queer theory and feminist theory. I like reading education theory. I highly respect Barbra Kingsolver and I love the Harry Potter books. Though in general my favorite book I am currently in a Tom Robbins phase of my life.

music: Dub-Step, EDM, indie, folk-rock, folk, jazz, funk, classical music. I have a range, based on my mood. Music makes me happy, though honestly I am no DJ.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Roof top slumber parties at home in DC, fought in the Thunderdome at Burning Man, climbed really steep mountains in the swiss alps, floated in a lake while watching the sunset in Berlin, biked across the dikes in the Netherlands, scoured the bazar in Instambul, ate chocolate and drank most excellent local beer in Brussels...and much much more

Teach, Learn, Share

I collect quotes. Here are some of my favorite:

"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love."
— Dr. Seuss

"Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind"
- Samuel Ullman

“As a mestiza I have no country, my homeland cast me out; yet all the countries are mine because I am every woman’s sister or potential lover. (As a lesbian I have no race, my own people disclaim me; but I am all races because there is queer of me in all races.) I am cultureless because, as a feminist, I challenge the collective cultural/religious male derived belifes of Indo-Hispanc and Anglos; yet I am cultured because I am participating in the creation of yet another culture, a new story to explain the world and our participation in it, a new value system with images and symbols that connect us to each other and to the planet.”
-Gloria Anzaldua

"If I can't dance, I want no part of your revolution"
-Emma Goldman

"In Wonderland everyone cheats and love is wonderful"
-Jeanette Winterson"

The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of the same family grow up under the same roof.
-Richard Bach, Illusions

"One of the worst things about lonely rebels is they get hard and mean over the years. You need friends. You need joy. It ought to be a joyful pilgrimage into a world of struggle. Otherwise, as William Butler Yeats says, it is 'too long a sacrifice to make a stone of the heart.'"
-Jonathan Kozol

"Suposing a tree feel down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.
The House at Pooh Corner
- A.A. Milne

"A poem is a naked person... Some people say that I am a poet."
-Bob Dylan
