About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live out of my comfort zone.
Immerse myself in other cultures.
Connect with like-minded individuals and communities.
Figure out my greatest impact.

ABOUT ME

I am a lover of life and people. I enjoy observing the similarities and differences in cultures.

I used to work in Silicon Valley near San Francisco. I've worked at small companies and large companies designing state of the art robotics and consumer electronics. I even started my own company. I recently left all of that behind though and sold all of my belongings to travel and find alternative ways to live.

My main mode of travel now is through workaway, which is a work exchange site. I enjoy working on farms and it's a great excuse to be outside, use my body, and meet interesting people I wouldn't otherwise.

PHILOSOPHY

Let's be good to the planet and each other.
Enjoy what you've got.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted many, and have surfed all over.
It's always fantastic to spend time with local people and it keeps me coming back.

Interests

In my home, I've probably spent more waking hours in my kitchen than anywhere else. I've experimented a lot with food and drinks. I can make just about anything if I have the right tools and time.

I lived in a communal house for the last 4 years and we had a huge garden with chickens and bees and it has been really nice to connect with the land and nature, even in our suburban home.

Trying to spend more time learning about history, philosophy and the humanities because I didn't spend much energy on these things when I was younger.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mostly non-fiction books. Currently reading: The Knowledge - How to Rebuild Civilization in the Aftermath of a Cataclysm.

I enjoy movies and music like anyone, but I'd rather spend time learning things on YouTube.
