About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing my Bachelor thesis on the Middle East!

ABOUT ME

I graduated from a German secondary school in 2007 and since then I have made it my mission to see the world. I have lived in the US, Spain, the Netherlands, China and I had the opportunity to travel to many other amazing places.

Currently (Jan-May 2013) I am in my last semester of studying and I am writing my thesis about tourism in the Middle East. Therefore I will also be travelling to Jordan and Israel in March / April 2013 and I am so excited to get to see both countries and to get to know people from the region.

I consider myself an openminded and curious person, easy to get along with. Besides that, I think I share some "typical" characteristics with my fellow Germans, such as my desire to always have a plan and to be prepared for anything and everything.

PHILOSOPHY

I am just trying to make the best of every situation, even if it is an unpleasant one... to me that's the most important thing.

In jeder Minute, die man mit Ärger verbringt, versäumt man 60 glückliche Sekunden.
-William Somerset Maugham

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have been couchsurfing mostly in the US and in Denmark. Furthermore I have met with fellow CSers and shown them around places where I have lived (in the US etc).

Interests

I think I am quite an active person, I love sports and to experience new things.

In the past I had a lot of dance classes (ballroom), I did acrobatics thorughout my whole childhood and adolescence. Currently I am mostly running and snowboarding in the winter.

Besides travelling I love reading (I always carry at least one book with me). I am mostly interested in topics related to my studies (Tourism Management), such as tourism developement, development aid, international relations, especially in the Middle East (right now).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Death Valley... I was fascinated by the landscape. I've never seen something like this before. The place was just beautiful and everything so wide and big!

The most amazing thing happened last year... when I was like 15 or 16 I took a lot of dancing classes (in Germany) and I became friends with this one guy... over the years we did not really keep in touch... but then I went to Macau (China) on exchange for one semester... and: he lives and works there now. Such a coincidence!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Cambodia, Denmark, Estonia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, Germany, Netherlands, United States
