About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To connect with kindred spirits all over the world!

ABOUT ME

"Nocturnal smart ass who constantly craves for sashimi, starbucks and a tinier waist. Constantly bogged down by profound thoughts that are too immense for my little brain to take. Also the ability to churn out absurd nonsensical thoughts that may be too immense for your little brain to take."

I live in a small town in Kuala Lumpur. Most people would say that this is a pretty self sufficient city but I crave for more. I want to see the world and the people who live in it. I want to absorb cultures that are not my own and be blown away by what I never knew existed. I'm ready to learn and to be taught. In return, I would like to share a bits of my life with people and leave traces all around this world. For what is the use of living in a world so big and never seeing it for yourself and leaving your mark?

I would say that I'm a pretty shy person but I get comfortable very easily with like minds and friendly people, and once that happens, you'll see me. You know how they say that there are many layers behind a person, well I only have one. :P

I like people who are not afraid to be themselves and are in tune with their inner child. I like spontaneity and boldness. I like funny people and making these funny people laugh because it makes me feel good about myself. :D

I like to be able to goof off but I also love conversations that stimulate my mind and my soul (though these are very rare and I think we'd be friends for life if you can successfully stimulate my soul). :D

I was born into a Christian family but I see too much hate amongst religion to advocate it. Too many wars going on in the name of it. I think this world would be better off if everyone just believe in doing good and be kind to one another, to not hate because do not all religion tell us the same thing? I once believed in God and considered myself a spiritual person. However, life has shown me that the common understanding of God could be wrong. If you were to understand it from my point of view, you'd probably think it blasphemous and would consider me an atheist. If you're open to discussing this without wanting my head on a platter, I think we could be friends. I'm always open to different views and always find it enriching to hear why people believe in their belief.

I love to dance alone in my room to feel good music. Just plain prancing around to happy music, doing my happy chicken dance. Mika is a good choice. Heheh. It's a great stress reliever, you should try it too.

I love the little things in life. Smell of morning dew, watching raindrops trickle down my windows (they look like sperms. heheheheh), watching my dog eat, painting my nails and getting it right, taking a great photograph, pretty lights, a beautiful song, the soft breeze hitting my face after a long hot day, an awesome bear hug. <3

PHILOSOPHY

Thumper said it best when he said "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". Thumper is the bunny from Bambi for the poor ill-informed souls.

Do not judge. For with the human soul, there is always more than meets the eye.

Also to live life with the littlest regret as possible. Carpe Diem.

Strangers are friends waiting to happen.

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny" - Paolo Coelho

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Introducing the lost and curious travelers to the sights and sounds of KL. I am also trying to be more active in the local CS communities by attending events and also organising mini meet ups. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started really using this site during my Big Euro Adventure. I surfed couches in Amsterdam, Paris and Edinburgh. Met up with some people via couchsurf as well. It has been a great experience so far. This site has reinstated my faith in the goodness of people. I was constantly blown away by how kind and trusting people are. This is not just them opening their homes to you, but their world. I have no words to describe how grateful I felt for every kindness shown to me by these people I met.

I actually surfed couches throughout my entire Euro/UK trip but the rest were friends whom I'm really lucky to have. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Parasailing in Ferengghi Beach, Penang.
Swimming away from Jelly fishes in Sabah.
The blue blue waters of Pulau Redang.
Baby turtles in Cherating.
Seeing the Grand Canyon, what a humbling sight.
Being surrounded by snowy mountains in Lake Tahoe. Such a magical place I definitely want to go again!!
Cruising in a BMW convertible through the Dutch countryside in Veendam!
Touched a real sheep at a Petting Farm in Veendam! (don't judge, we don't get sheeps in Malaysia)
Cycled on a Velib Bike to see the Eiffel Tower.

You know what, I'm just going to say "Traveled in Europe/UK for 6 weeks on my own" because really, that's by far the most amazing thing I've done in my lifetime (24 years and counting).

Teach, Learn, Share

Uhh...I can make Oreo Cheesecake and an awesome Shepherd's Pie.
And I can burp on demand too. :D I'll gladly teach inquiring minds. :D

I'd love to learn how to juggle and to whistle with my fingers in my mouth.

I can share with you the unique culture and customs in Malaysia. We have 3 major ethnicities here so we have a lot of interesting festivals and superstitions. They can be pretty interesting if you're not from here. :)
