About Me

IMPORTANT: When I started using this website in 2008, everything was free. Important advice from me: DO NOT PAY, write real personal request, meet people, get references, that is the Couchsurfing spirit :-)

- I'm working as a tour guide in Bayeux, Normandy
- I live in a appartement
- Make sure you read my accommodation page
- If you read my accommodation page, you know it is useless to ask me for a couch weeks in advance
- No references isn't a problem if you write a personal request and explain why you just started CS
- Organize your arrival and time in Bayeux and Normandy in advance. Public transportation is complicated to visit the Landing Beaches or Mont St Michel. Call the Tourism Office of Bayeux (ask them everything, great staff)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing by welcoming foreign students in Angers (those who were on CS) and showing them around (Loire castle, Mont-Saint-Michel) back in 2008. I attended a lot of meeting in Angers and Nantes, and attended some events with 40/50+ CSers attending ! For me, 2008-2011 was the Golden age of Couchsurfing.

I always loved being surrounded by some type of international atmosphere, and meeting people for so many different countries. I started to travel much more as well, and hope to reach 40+ countries visited by the end of 2018 !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my first real Couchsurfing experience (back in 2008) was in Romania. I was looking for some bus schedule and prices in Resita for a trip planned months ahead, and ended up being in touch with Giorgiana, who was living there. She gave me all the informations I needed and I thank her a lot.

5 weeks later, I'm in Resita to take the bus. Giorgiana was in fact waiting for me near the bus station with her french boyfriend, and welcomed me there as she recognized me from my profil picture (and huge backpack). What a nice surprise, it was so kind of her. The three of us emptied a few drinks and then they joined me inside the bus station to make sure everything was OK.

This was a real Couchsurfing experience, even if not involving a Couch :-)
