COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

During a trip through Spain some years ago my companion and I had the fine luck of knowing quite a couple of people in different cities there - so not only did we find lots of hospitable places to stay but we also got great introductions to the city, got amazing but still cheap food (for instance in a place where we alone would have never figured out how to order), met heaps of locals and even made it for free into La Sagrada Familia (the flatmate of a friend worked at the entry).
Unfortunately you seldomely know so many people in so many places close-by - that's why I think CouchSurfing is such a great idea as it allows you to meet those people.

music: indie pop and twee, alternative folk, latin music, baltica and klezmer, electro-pop. I think it's a rather large lake in which I'm fishing to find the stuff that suits my current mood best.
Books: whatever's at hand - from aztec myths over something about the roots of the israel conflict to entertaining novels. Problem is I often get mixed up by the numerous books I read at the same time.

I've seen a near-by erupting volcano in the night. Makes you feel horribly small.

Teach: I am some sort of a chemistry teacher, so let's start with that - but eventually, I feel it's more about spontaneous learning. I especially love learning those apparently useless bits of information that are somewhat intriguing/amusing and might start off conversations with unpredictable ends.
Oh, and I can show you how to do your own stencil prints on t-shirts :)
