About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn learn learn, teach, learn learn, learn...

ABOUT ME

I am a writer/songwriter/singer/guitar player at heart, but of necessity I have pursued a wide variety of other skills, few of which have proven to be financially profitable. The American Dream is a Global Nightmare anyway. It has never attracted me, as it is far too materialistic, ultra-consuming, and without foresight. I wonder about people who don't wonder, and I don't like arrogance, apathy, or anybody who drives too slow in the fast lane. Critical thinking is what I look for in people, and the pursuit of positive change.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is what happens while you're making plans.
John Lennon?

"Don't wait for your ship to come in, swim out to meet it."

Just keep moving, in as positive of a direction as you can...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because I live in an area where not many CSers visit, my opportunities to host are very rare, but the few guests I've had here have been great. During my recent two months in Germany, Turkey, and Czech Republic I discovered a lot of incredibly GREAT CSers, and was hosted by some of the finest people I've ever met. Within the coming year I hope to be traveling again, but in the meantime I will continue to participate in various group forums, and correspond with other members, sharing information, making inquiries, etc. I have much to learn, friendships to establish, and hopefully many memorable experiences to accumulate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted many times as a traveling musician, long before the advent of CS, and have more recently enjoyed a few opportunities to BE a host since joining. Not a lot of global travelers seem to visit the area where I live, but if you do, stop by, we'll work it out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First, I got born. That's amazing. For me anyway.

Second, I watched my son get born. More amazing.

Since that, I flew a powered parachute, seen the Aurora Borealis so wild I thought the world was ending, and oh yeah, I double-skunked both opponents once in a game of three-hand Cribbage. I'm not at all amazing, but the cards surely were.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about using and maintaining a chainsaw, computer hardware/networking, some automotive basics, guitar playing, juggling, balloon twisting, a card trick or two...

I want to learn everything.

Countries I’ve Visited
