ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Cathy from TX. I used CS while traveling all over France and the rest of Europe when I was working as a teacher over there. Then I spent two years with the Peace Corps in West Africa and now I'm finally settling back down in the USA. I am a new hire for an airline and am itching to use my travel privileges to see a bit more of the USA through weekend trips.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Of course I did my fair bit of surfing, but I also hosted Natsuno from Japan/Senegal and Benedicte from Paris when I had a cute little "house" in Ouidah. We had fun with Bosco (the dog on my back) as well as eating some good (spicy!) Beninese rice and sauce from the tanties in my neighborhood.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Too many to pick from! But here are a few highlights in no particular order:
-Frog legs with Boris and Francois in Montpellier
-Canoe Festival in Québec with Marie
-Road trip through Louisiana with Ed and M.
-Boatsurfing in La Rochelle with Johann and Camille
-Dilek's advice and stories in Istanbul
-Breakfasts with Nadia in Quebec and Belgium
-Meeting Guangcong once in Paris then 2 years later again in Antilles - a completely coincidence.
-Véronique and her rubber duck collection in Strasbourg.

Interests

It rotates, but the hobbies at the moment are sewing, knitting, climbing, and yoga.

When it is summer I go on ice cream making sprees. Plum sorbets or cherry vanilla ice cream, anybody? Pity it isn't very portable or I'd share it more often.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ice climbing in the Alps. So surprised I actually did it - and lived! I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but only with a good team and friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a beginner but I'll happily teach the basics of knitting or sewing - I'm never without a small project to keep my hands occupied.
