ABOUT ME

It's time to travel and explore again. From March to August of 2013, i plan to explore Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia & Parts of China. My plan is to meet different people, experience different cultures, expand my taste buds and enjoy life.

If we have the opportunity to meet,
i look forward to our conversation.

My career background is in the creative arts and video games.
I have been a gaming artist for 13 years.

Beyond arts, i also enjoy exploring cultures, spiritual & philosophical thoughts, photography and games that improve people.

Originally from Hong Kong, I immigrated to Canada in 1984. Footloose & Ghostbusters were a hit in theatres, Bananarama was an awesome band. My teenage & early adulthood was spent in Canada; Schools and begin my gaming career at EA Canada. First decade of 2000 was spent in California. I developed more video games, developing my new interest in photography. And I don't think i really understood this world until i left Los Angeles.

Past 4 years i soul searched. I wandered, i travelled and mostly resided in Vancouver. In 2013, i will discover Asia and see if i can discover a simple paradise with yummy foods, good people and in a healthy & safe environment.

PHILOSOPHY

-- Be --

Be how you want
the World to Be

( This philosophy really isn't working, don't ask me why i don't remove it...)

-- Wealth --

Mein Weltbild, Amsterdam: Querido Verlag, 1934

I am absolutely convinced that no wealth in the world can help humanity forward, even in the hands of the most devoted worker in this cause. The example of great and pure individuals is the only thing that can lead us to noble thoughts and deeds. Money only appeals to selfishness and irresistibly invites abuse.

Albert Einstein

-- Purpose in Life --
Journey & People are more important than the Destination

The How means more than the What

-- Knowledge vs Wisdom --
what you know & what really matters

-- Power --
Information & Coercion
versus
Cooperation & Compassion

-- Minds --
Emotional Mind overwrites Rational Mind
An Open Mind to appreciate the Full Experiences

-- Thoughts --
State of Mind perceives the world

-- Argument --
There are no right nor wrong,
There are lots of personal preference.

-- Changes or making a difference --
How are you so sure your way is right for everyone?

-- Tolerance --
Celebrate everyone for their own choosing & accepting difference in taste & information

-- ME ME ME Society --
How much is Enough;
What about others?
Embracing the choice of sharing
www.storyofstuff.com

-- a little bit of Buddhism --
Suffering is from Desires & Attachment

-- Life --
Life is a Journey.

I have experienced love
I have realized what really is important
I have great friends & family

The goals that i have set out earlier in life do not impress my today self. I was on a journey for a new discovery of self in 2008 & I felt like i have found peace in 2009. ... probably because I have became old. :P

-- Learn from you and new entries in my Life --
What is your definition of love and life?
What brings you joy?

-- Work in progress thoughts --

Respect Love

Live - Content (Be) Want - Believes

Do we empathize ones with similar values and believes
And is this the beauty of separation?

Philosophy of time

Maslow's Theory makes most sense
Hinduism & Buddhism can be updated a little
Catholics church makes sense & it is scary how many find peace and confront their fears.

--- Philosophy of Philosophy ---
Are we all trying to make sense of the world based on our own experiences in our environments?

--- My thoughts on Activism ---
From fears & desires to Believes then Behaviors
My dear CS activist community, can we make improvements rather than changing the world.

--- at the end ----
Your happiness increases my quality of life.
(not sure if i believe in this anymore though)

----- Inspirations -------
It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and
keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A bulgarian friend suggested me to check out the cs philosophy forum when i was in LA. I did and the discovery began my journey of more discoveries.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a lot of wonderful CS in Los Angeles when i was discovering couchsurfing. I connected with Cesar, Edina, Michael, Imungrue & Brian. Their minds were brilliant & insightful.

In Bulgaria, I met/stayed with Eman, Adam, Jie, Bojo & Zlaty, Nina, Emo, Adam and met many of their friends. Their positive spirit and the collection of good human nature helped uplift the state that i was in at the time. They inspired me to be more active where ever i will be in the future.

In Asia for the first time, i was connected with Kalinasz, Dolphinnie, cousin Raymond, and Maurice. They shared with me their perspective of Asia, taught me a lot about the Chinese culture.

The second time in Asia, i connected with Lawrence, Anthony, Yu and a professor of social science visiting from Cyprus. I had a good time though i wasn't fully enjoying the moment.

Before my second trip to Asia, i was in Turkey for a month, i was couchsurfing with Isra at her family homes for 3 weeks. After, i met 2 other CS and i surfed with Serkan for a week. His CS roommate and friends Serif, Fergio & Alper showed me a great time and gave me the most wonderful coastal tour of Turkey.

In Vancouver,
Well.... there is too much to tell.
I don't even know where to begin so i will get back to writing this later. My latest story in Vancouver is that i was crazy in love over a girl; Though our relationship ended, i had the greatest memories of my life and we are still friends and occasionally connect via emails.

Lily & Christine,
thanks for being such wonderful people.
To all the cs in Vancouver ( i will mention you all soon...)
and to all the cs people i've met around the world in Vancouver.
It was great meeting all of you!

" I rather use my time
on stage to uplift people,
if you walk out of here with a smile
then i feel like in some tiny way,
i have improved the quality of your life.
And that means more to me
than winning some competition ever could."

Steve Sauvé October 12, 1975 - January 17, 2009

I used to like this story of Good and Evil, but i don't care to remind myself of the Evil anymore:

"There is a wonderful story in the Navajo tradition. An old Navajo told his grandson that sometimes he feels there is a fight that is going on inside him. He said it is a fight between two wolves: One wolf is evil. It is the wolf of anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, superiority, fear of healing my body and mind, fear of succeeding, fear of exploring what has been said by others to be truth, fear of walking in others' moccasins and seeing glimpses of their reality through their eyes and their hearts, using empty excuses that my heart knows to be false. The other wolf is good. It is the wolf of joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, caring for those who have helped me even though their efforts have not always been perfect, the willingness to forgive myself and others, and realizing that my destiny is in my hands.

The grandson thought about it and asked: "But grandfather, which wolf wins?" His grandfather replied: "The wolf that i choose to feed."

"God was alone in the universe. He can do anything! but at that time.. he had 2 sides to him... Good and evil. Since he could do anything... and since he has all the wisdom in the entire cosmo... he concluded that... Good is good and evil is bad... and so decided to split his personality into half! the good one... he retains so that he could find the meaning of existence and find pure truth... and as for the bad side of him... he created an entity in which he named Satan and put all his bad-ness into satan!

and thus! God is today.. purely almighty and "clean" while he deeply regreted creating a bin to dump all his badness in.... Satan is kinda becoming a handful of trouble by having a mind of his own... since god has given him the part of his mind that is evil.. he created allies... called the devil and also the serpent who tempted eve to eat the apple. and so... the sinning of mankind has began"
