About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to pour the perfect culín of sidra

ABOUT ME

I'm an American girl living in Gijón, a great city full of great people. I live in the city but I prefer being in nature. Besides working as an English teacher, I spend my time walking along the beach, hiking in the mountains, rock climbing, playing my ukulele, cooking with my roommate, and drinking with friends.
On the weekends I try to get out to some nature, either in the mountains or maybe on the coast. My roommate and I sometimes go rock climbing on the weekends, so if you're a climber, let us know and we'll try to arrange something. Otherwise, there are great hiking trails all over the region. I also participate in Oviedo's weekend hiking group, which you can find on the Oviedo couchsurfing page.

PHILOSOPHY

It always gets better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting, surfing, and attending events for almost 7 years now. Let the adventures continue!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some surfing, some hosting, some random meetings, great friendships!

Interests

Diving, singing, writing, beach volleyball, languages, books, dancing in bars with friends, hiking, playing guitar, anything outdoors, backpacking especially, and I am a beginner rock climber.

I love to relax by cooking a good meal while drinking wine and listening to a podcast. That, to me, sounds like a great night in. And this also kind of sounds like a dating profile...

Music, Movies, and Books

Love all kinds of books (favorites are by Bill Bryson, John Irving, Margaret Atwood, and Haruki Murakami) and I'm a huge podcast junkie, I love NPR, This American Life, and Radiolab. National Geographic is also an old and very good friend of mine.

If you get to know me better I'll admit to all my "guilty pleasure" TV shows.

The best music is the kind you make yourself!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking 1,500 miles in summer 2013 through parts of Scotland, Wales, England, France, and Spain, while living in a tent for 3 months! Best nights sleep I've ever gotten!

I walked the John Muir Trail in summer 2012 by myself... if I were to ever recommend something to someone whole-heartedly, this would be it. 3 weeks of amazing, vertigo-inducing scenery that nearly left me in tears every day. An incredible challenge, and something I'll never forget.
