About Me

ABOUT ME

I love to travel. The world is pretty cool if people take the time to look at it. I have been very fortunate to see as much of it as I have.

So, me in a nutshell, let's see what I can do:

I finished University in May 2008 and went back the next year to complete a minor in French. Then, I moved to Nancy, France to teach English in a High School.
I got back in May of 2010, and finished my Master's Degree in May of 2012 and now I work for a University in Columbus, OH.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a love for people, talking, and communication; and thus language. I like to get to know people, and about their culture... I enjoy becoming more aware of my own culture through this experience, and opening myself to this huge, yet incredibly small world.
I love tea and coffee. Art rocks. Music makes me happy.
I like to drink from time to time, and I enjoy a good social gathering. However, I am sometimes shy at first, but quick to warm up. I can get pretty loud if I'm feeling comfortable (or I've been drinking).
Pleasure comes from spontaneity.
PHILOSOPHY
Fun is where you make it.
I must be able to understand myself before I can appreciate everything else, and yet the two go hand in hand. Traveling has both given me the opportunity to discover more about myself, and yet by doing so I can appreciate things different, similar, opposite, and contradictory to myself...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had a fair share of CS experiences in Europe and the US, and while in Grad School I could not offer a couch. I miss the CS Community and would like to reintegrate myself. I like to hang with my CS friends and meet new people when the opportunity comes! I also read a lot of group posts. LOL
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Non- CS Community:
I have done time on a few air mattresses and I have been a host to many friends and family.
CS Community: I had an amazing time in Paris with Julien and with Norbert and I had an awesome experience in Chicago with Kim, and Steph & Matt. Luzern was cool with Ursi. And all the lovely people I met in the south of France were fab! I'm currently on a rural lake community and I am still yet to host, but I had an amazing time surfing!!!
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
I used to say that I did't have enough of extra time to watch movies, but then I moved to France and only worked 12 hours a week. The French love their cinema, and now I do too! Fav movies: Closer and Donnie Darko.
Music:
Overall, I love to dance, and I love music that makes me want to move... fast or slow. I like a LOT of music...
Books:
I like something true, things that could be true, and things that allow my imagination to work. As I get older (cough, cough), I seem to be more focused on inspirational and real storied.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love those moments where you can't help but stop and think, "wow, I never thought I would be doing this..." That has happened to me, most notably in Iceland and Morocco. Morocco was out of this world, amazing, beautiful.
I was struck by lightning. --you'll just have to ask me about it--
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to teach you a little about myself, about what inspires me.
I want to learn where your favorite spot is (pub, diner, park, walk, court, tree, gelatiere). I want to learn where you are coming from, how you see the the world, and what you wanted to be when you were a child.
I want to share culture, laughter, ideas, and food. Maybe a bottle of wine (I mean, I lived in France, didn't I?)
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Iceland, Italy, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland
Countries I’ve Lived In
France, United Kingdom, United States
