About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To share great experiences and network with people through this awesome community

ABOUT ME

***FYI: I AM NOT IN THUNDER BAY BUT IN ROSSPORT 2HR DRIVE EAST OF THUNDER BAY***

I live on Nicol Island in Rossport Ontario Canada. It is about 2hours east of Thunder Bay and 6hours west of Sault Ste. Marie. From June to september I will have the capacity to host people traveling through and very much look forward it it. What I can offer is a campsite for van parking or tenting. I have a dining tent and picnic table there. It is right on Lake Superior.

Rossport is in the heart of the most beautiful islands archipelago in all the great lakes. I live here year round when not working on ships in the Antarctic or traveling and operate an adventure kayak business and a small bnb. I am very busy in the summer months now with my business and hosting our guests but I am more than happy to host people or at least help you out when i can so please get in touch. The couchsurfing network has served me well over the years in my travels and as a host. I hope to continue to build connections and education people on the wonders within this network.

In general I am a person who is very easy to get along with, practical, open-minded, passionate and down to earth. I love to have fun, especially spending time outside adventuring with good people and discovering new and interesting places.

I've been very fortunate to have done lots of traveling and working in some really unique and wild places around the world over the past 20 or so years.

In January 2016 I moved back to Thunder Bay Ontario with interest to set some roots.

I now have my own adventure business in Northwestern Ontario 'Such A Nice Day Adventures' http://suchaniceday.com/ specializing in paddling adventures along the Canadian North Shore of Lake Superior.

Each winter(when possible) I have worked and travelled internationally. The past few seasons I have worked on a small cruise ships as a kayak guide/ zodiac driver traveling to Antarctica.

I will be around Northwestern Ontario for the foreseeable future working on expanding my business and connecting with people whenever I can.

I love to learn as much as i can about where i travel, the people i meet, and i places i live. I think it is important to develop a connection to everything around you.

To find out more about me and some of my adventures please check out my blog at: http://zackkruzins.com/ It is a little out of date but I have more about some of my major expeditions and travels.

I do manage to keep most of my photos up to date and you can check them out here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/zackkruzins/sets/.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have used this network extensively through hosting, surfing, ride shares, boat shares, organizing events etc.

I last officially hosted a few people while i was living in santa catalina Panama and on Karaka may 2013 and we connected with some CS organizing some events and parties in Panama City. I have also used this network traveling in Chile and Argentina 2011/12 and it was absolutely fantastic. I even had the opportunity to give back and host people for a 3 month period that i lived in Puerto Bertrand in the Aysen region of Chilean Patagonia.
I have travelled throughout Canada and the USA quite a bit as well as Baja California Sur, Mexico and Costa Rica, staying on folks couches that i have met along the way, met through other people but most of the time through this great network. I plan to use couch surfing when i travel to make my life a little bit easier, allow me to safe some money and get a true local perspective on the area. During my time at the Dreamhouse in Thunder Bay Ontario I hosted around 100 people both officially throught this network and through friends. All have worked out well. I always look forward to making new connections with CSers where ever i find myself.
