About Me

CURRENT MISSION

tiny towns, beautiful accents, strange foods, history, strangers, footprints, discovery

ABOUT ME

A little introverted but not boring. Endlessly curious and open-minded. Realistic but hiding dreams in my pocket. I'm learning how to accept that I'm a grown up now and behave ( because sometimes I forget ) Also - I make really bad jokes, and I'm literal - this gets me into trouble all the time - you've been warned!

My dream is to scatter little bits of myself everywhere. Leave foot prints on every unmarked path, and follow great leaders- as well as make them follow me :) I love the unknown, the unconventional, and trying to live a life that I can be proud of. I'm learning how to be true to myself at all costs, and make my dreams come true.

I'm often accused of being not mature enough, or scolded for not taking things more seriously. Some see this as a flaw and others love me for it. I just don't see the point in getting all stressed out... it's only life.

PHILOSOPHY

I just don't see the point in getting all stressed out... it's only life.- Lorraine Sanchez :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was the Ambassador for Den Haag, and Rotterdam - later became a travelling Ambassador. Once the changes in CS took place - everything changed so I'm not sure what I am anymore :D
*******************************************************
I participate with meetings (both attending and organizing). I surf when possible- I prefer to see the city I'm visiting through the eyes of the people). I host when I have the time to truly make my home inviting and give attention. I use to moderate a few CS groups. I welcome new group members, and CS members when they join CS. In day to day life I promote CS whenever I meet new people, and answer questions. I also respond to many emails to : assisting people find a host, advice on the city, and meeting up to give a tour, etc.
I have also organized meetings during the famous Sinterklaas celebration in Rotterdam two years in a row- 2008,2009. As well as little normal meetings to get people together here and there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfing has changed my life. It helps me to see the world, and have truly unique experiences with every CSer I meet. It also gives me the chance to give back to the world- one CS person at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The other day I was walking in Den Haag with a friend. I was in my own little world.. Then suddenly there was this guy walking very slowly, and in my way. I remember having to walk into the street to go around him, and being slightly annoyed. Why couldn't he just share the sidewalk? Well it turns out he was blind..
He must have heard me walking by.. because he called out and asked me if I knew where the tram was. I told him yes.. he asked if I would walk him. So I did.. we walked about 10 mins.. and I held his hand. He even sang to me.. it was.. one of the most amazing walks of my life. It touched me because.. it reminded me that there is still hope in the world, that people can trust, that people need other people, and that you can have such a strong connection with someone you don't even know.. someone you can't look at. All you have to go on.. is the human touch. ANyway.. yeah. For me.. things like that.. are amazing.
