About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a sustainable way to be my own boss.

ABOUT ME

I'm a hobbyist at heart and love to travel. Spent 14 lovely years in Washington State but happy to be back in my home territory in Utah. I'm an easygoing gal who's happy to have recently turned 40 because, I have to say, I have earned it. I love Salt Lake City and welcome one and all to see why.

PHILOSOPHY

My driving philosophy is the importance of being very present - in the here and now. It's really all we've got ... ever. The best description of my spirituality and my personal credo: "Let the mystery be."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Happily situated where I can begin to host CSers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed on and off in Summer of 2008 while I motorcycle toured the USA.

Interests

What am I not interested in. Politics (liberal and enjoy respectful dialogue), arts, film, reading (esp. non-fiction), furniture-building, outdoors

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite group of movies is the Blue, White, Red trilogy by the Polish director whose name I would butcher completely if I tried to spell it.

Hugely love the music group Hem (alt-country), Andrew Bird, Natalie Merchant, 80s new wave, Alison Krauss, DeVotchka

Any non-fiction is great by me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Glacier Peak - the oldest volcano in Washington state. Trekked over the Andes in Bolivia into the Amazon Basin.

Teach, Learn, Share

For the moment, I'll share something I gleaned from another's wisdom. That of Byron Katie. We either believe our stressful thoughts and thereby suffer or we subject them to inquiry and thereby find true freedom. We find that not as much about our lives is really our business as we think.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Haiti, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ecuador, United States
