About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Currently between missions...

ABOUT ME

I love meeting as many people with as many beliefs and opinions as possible to strengthen my own, and question everything from compost to our very existence. But I try and keep a smile on my face and not get too bogged down by things.
It is amazing to see what makes people tick, what makes everyone's own little world go round :) This is why I enjoy communal living, the whole soup gets a lot more spicy when you start mixing peoples lives!
I love beautiful places and the great outdoors, which is a big part of my living in this area- long walks and cycles in the hills are up there with hitching, travels and festivals as a way of keeping me happy.
At the moment I am practising Holistic Massage and Bodywork, learning the magical ways of the body and how to help people heal themselves at a deep level.

PHILOSOPHY

I spend more time wondering what is going on than just enjoying it! Maybe I got this the wrong way round!
But I believe that to accept without questioning is almost ungrateful, and I live in gratitude for every day that carries me. I try to make as much use of this time as I can, in as unselfish a way as possible.
But I understand that not everyone thinks in the same way and that's the beauty of it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope that I participate in the project in the 'normal' way, by providing people who need it with a warm and comfy place to rest their heads.
I also hope that me and my housemates make good and relaxed company for those weary travellers, with all the standard stuff- conversations, meals together, or just space if that's what's needed!
But I also hope to show people who come and stay that it's possible to live a normal existence and still be sustainable and have a low impact on the earth.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently couchsurfed, for only the second time in my life despite hosting for years.
It feels amazing to have gained a little experience of how much richness it adds to a journey, and the thought of being able to provide that to any other travellers in the easy way i have been doing all along blows me away.
A simple cup of tea feels like the lap of luxury, a shower or a washing machine can be transformed into a lifeline, and a bed is just heaven.
The authentic side- stepping into someones life and accepting their hospitality, is the ultimate bond builder, and wall-destroyer and i will enjoy sharing my home so much much more now i have really know how it feels to from the other side.
