About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Make a million memories for every hundred thousand miles.

ABOUT ME

David and I are down to do almost anything (legal, of course). We want to experience the world, enjoy what it has to offer, and meet new people. I am 30 and David is 32.I work in theatre as a props artisan; I love to paint, sew, wood work, metal work... anything crafty, I usually want to learn and have fun with! David works in the video game industry, and is a bit of a walking Wikipedia; he knows a little bit about everything and loves to take in new knowledge!

We are really into all sorts of music, and we love going to concerts. We also love hiking, road trips, and finding hidden treasures. We like to have friends over and entertain, whether it's random movie nights, game nights, or dinner parties.

PHILOSOPHY

If you do what you love, you never work a day in your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love to help people have a better experience and make sure that they have a great time, especially in cities we're familiar with. Being a "tourist" isn't always easy, and sometimes the touristy things aren't what make a city exciting.

We have both lived in major California cities, and love traveling throughout CA, so we feel like we have some great places and ideas to share. On workdays, we try to have dinner with our guests, either at a local restaurant or a home-cooked meal. On weekends, we try to have at least one day or half-day that we can show our guest places of interest, or places that we think might fit their interest—ones that are possibly not the easiest for Couch Surfers to get to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We love having company and having a reason to get out of the house! It's been great exchanging stories and learning new things. Having people to get advice about the places they've been and we want to go to, it's GREAT!

SURFING-David and I took a road trip up to Canada a couple of years ago. It was awesome; we got the chance to be surfers for once (rather than hosts). I feel like being hosted helped us become better hosts. It was great to have someone that we had never met be so trusting and inviting toward us; it is the way I wish most people could feel.
Peru was amazing to meet other surfers from around the world and really taught us to reach out. We met up with a couplde CSers at the bottom of a ruin (how f-ing cool is that?? Planning a meet up in a ruin) from there the local CSer took us out to the Inca trail with a beautiful view and awesome walk.

Interests

We love discovering hidden tresures in our neighborhood, cooking, dancing, hiking, trying new things, admiring diversity, taking pictures, going to concerts, listening to music with a good beat, relaxing, and of course the local bars.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to learn or need help figuring out how to build something, Viqui is definitely crafty and has a few good tools to fix almost anything. If she doesn't know how to fix something she's pretty good at figuring it out and not breaking anything :)David is a walking Wikipedia: he often thinks he doesnt know much about a certain subject, but he ends up knowing more than he thinks. He's great at playing trivia or Scrabble with. Also, loves to share his video games! If you can teach us how to cook something delicious or even a mixed we would LOVE IT!
