关于我

CURRENT MISSION

To pursue my passions wherever they may take me; to live a fun, fullfiling, joyful life; to find out who I am. And to check off as many items on my Bucket List before the last grain of sand falls.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 29-year-old guy who is sick of taking the route we have been told all our lives to take. I seek adventure, self-discovery, and fulfillment in my life. How, you ask? Well, I'm workin' on it.

I consider myself a pretty diverse character...
I'm a professional wrestler, but I'd take a bullet for Wal•E.
I train like a one-man genocide machine in the gym, but I cried at "Armageddon."
I'll head bang to AC/DC and I'm seriously considering getting a Legend of Zelda tattoo.
I'm 420-friendly.
I like to party it up with the frat crowd one night, hang out with my hippie Burning Man friends the next, play Halo and World of Warcraft with my dork friends the next, and jam with friends that aren't any younger than 40 the next.
My youngest friend is 16, my oldest friend is 70.
I'll sing karaoke at the bars and I'm my friends' collective psychiatrist/shoulder.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still trying to establish my personal philosophy. Seems to be growing daily. I'm willing to bet it will always be a work-in-progress. We can discuss life philosophy when you're crashing on my couch or when I'm crashing on yours. But to give you an idea of where I'm coming from and where I'm at, here are a few things I try to always keep in mind:

I will grow old and die before I grow up.

If you're not making love, make fun.

This, above all: to thine own self, be true.

I'll try anything once. Maybe twice, just to make sure I'm doing it right.

I've always been more curious than cautious.

The more you feel like you're living, the less you feel like you're dying.

There is no moment but the one you are in. Make it the moment you never want to end.

If you truly believe in something or someone, you don't have to let anyone tell you not to.

I'm on a scavenger hunt for my self.

Never say "never"...err, don't ever say "never." haha

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

If someone asks you "what are you doing with your life," and you can't say, "enjoying it," then what the hell are you living for?

If I'm not on stage, I'm in the front row.

Ever heard the phrase, I don't live to work, I work to live? Well, I believe that we don't have to make that compromise. At 23, I found myself working in a corporate office in the San Francisco Bay Area making great money, great benefits, flexible hours, easy commute, etc. Everything about the job was great...except the job, except the way I was spending my time.

I saw all these 40-, 50-, and 60-year-olds working in the same office, and thought, oh my God, am I destined to spend the majority of the rest of my waking hours confined in this cube?

Fuck that.

This world is too big; there are too many places to see, there are too many people to meet, and there are too many experiences to be had for one to confine oneself in a cubicle. I just don't agree with that way of life. I am still searching to find MY way of life. I guess that's what I'm looking for.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I embarked on a cross-country road trip from January 'til mid-March 2009, so I was surfing couches 'cross the nation!

But, to be more specific, I want to leave places and people in a better way than when I found them by sharing moments, experiences, stories, ideas, and everything else that makes me me and makes me different from you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some truly amazing people that have become friends that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life. And I've had life experiences and made memories that I will treasure forever.

兴趣

Currently pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a professional wrestler with the WWE (formerly "WWF"). I'm a health and fitness nut. I write songs and a weekly blog about my experiences as a bouncer. I love to sing, doesn't matter if it's a paid gig or at a karaoke bar. Of course, there's far more to say, and not enough time or space to say it all.

音乐、电影和书籍

I love writing my own songs, but when it comes to listening to other music, my favorite bands are, in no particular order: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Kid Rock, Everlast, Nickelback, Everclear, and the incomparable Michael Jackson. But hey, if it sounds good to me – doesn't matter if it's Hanson or Marilyn Manson – if I like it, I'll listen to it.

As far as movies go, I enjoy too many to name, and some I don't think I should (example: Weekend at Bernie's and Weekend at Bernie's 2; two unjustly underrated classics). I used to work at a video store, so I own and have seen a shit load of movies, a little bit of everything. But I am partial to almost anything directed by Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock, Transformers). It's all explodey and shiney and fun to just sit back and switch off.

Not much of a "reader." I do enjoy Men's Health and Rolling Stone magazines. But that doesn't count.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

• Went skydiving at an altitude of 18,000 feet for 90 seconds of free fall on my Golden Birthday (I turned 26 on August 26, 2009).

教,学,和分享

When it's all said and done, and I'm dying wherever it is I die, I want to be able to say to myself that I tried everything I ever wanted to try.

I want to learn what it means to live a fun, fulfilling, joyful life.

A few tips for fellow 'Surfers:
- bring ear plugs wherever you go.
- if you're on the road, extra meat costs money, extra veggies do not. Always go heavy on the veggies.
- if a pillow is uncomfortable, wrap it in one of your shirts. Sometimes the familiarity of something you wear everyday is enough to make you feel more at home when trying to sleep in a place you've never been before.
- If you can, avoid crashing on a leather couch. They're so damn noisy, that any movement at all will make so much noise that you'll wake up.
