ABOUT ME

I'm pursuing a master's degree in engineering in Austin, Texas, working on wind energy problems. I make a point of going swing dancing or blues dancing, seeing live music, and hosting friends at my house for food and beer regularly in order to keep school from drying out my life too much. Right now I'm really excited about exploring my engineering and international poverty alleviation ambitions simultaneously. I spent a year studying literature and history in Chile, a summer working on poverty policy field research in Bolivia, and a year working on a sanitation project in Cambodia. Although I will be in school for at least a couple more years, I'm itching to be involved in a hands on project abroad at the same time.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing is more fun than being the first one on the dance floor. Nothing is more rewarding than a big adventure with a loving partner.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have couchsurfed in San Francisco, CA, and hung out at couchsurfing parties and meetups in Bolivia and Cambodia. The couchsurfing network is a great way to meet people in foreign places even if you don't plan to stay with a couchsurfing host.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam with Atlantic humpback whales in the Silver Banks (about 90 miles off the coast of the Dominican Republic) for a week.
