About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find inner peace and happiness

ABOUT ME

I am an always smiley, friendly and positive person who found it hard to settle back to the way of life in Budapest. I lived in Ireland for 5 years and really enjoyed my time there. I found that people are a lot more easy going abroad while Hungarians tend to be more pessimistic, at least the general population. Having moved away again, I now miss everything about Budapest and especially being near my friends and family. So need to work on being completely happy where I am at any given time and not wanting what I can't have :)

I adore music, expecially rock, and won't go anywhere without my mp3 player. I used to play the flute in a symphonic orchestra for 8 years, but that doesn't mean that I am conservative in my taste of music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the first time in Berlin in the summer of 2012 and then during my Grand Circle Roadtrip in November 2012 and it was brilliant! I used the site to find a cheap and lovely place to rent in NL and I landed with a job in Singapore through CS. I also met a couple of really nice people through CS meetings in various towns. So all in all, it's the best community site I came across.

Interests

I am fascinated by lighthouses and would love to spend a night in one of them eventually.
I love music, movies, good books and great chats with friends. I also run 2-3 times a week.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favourite movies is The Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind- the concept of two people who are meant to be together finding each other again after their minds having been erased amazes me.
One of my favourite books is Middlesex by Eugenides- it's a truly amazing book about a family's 3 generations migrating from Greece to America, and the curse brought about by the grandparents that affects the granddaughter. I recently re-discovered Doris Lessing and keep reading Paul Auster cause I just can't find a book by him that is not in every way brilliant.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, don't expect anything spectacular.. but..
1. When I lived in Montana we had deer and their fawns coming up to our house, grazing about peacefully.
2. I loved the Yosemite Bug resort in California- would go back there anytime! It's a really peaceful, homely place near Yosemite National Park- I recommend it for everyone.
