About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have just begun a PhD in Language and Communication at the University of Bern in Switzerland.. maybe by the time you read this, I'll have some clue as to what my thesis will be about..

ABOUT ME

I'm a laid-back Aussie guy who doesn't act like much of a laid-back Aussie guy at all (though I do love a beer). I'm all about absorbing knowledge through experiences, my own and others'. I'm on a journey to find out who I am and welcome anybody who wants to join me. I like late night discussions about politics, words, stories, the ways stories are told, old movies, new movies, old music, new music, the sun, moon and stars and everything under them.

I have all the original Goosebumps series bar #61 - I Live In Your Basement!

PHILOSOPHY

I like life. Like, really like life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

However people want me to, as best as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Munich.. Helsinki.. randomly stumbling into a CS party in Berlin.. Cologne.. Sao Paulo.. and more to come hopefully!

Interests

Heaps of stuff. I just want to know why people would be interested in what they're interested in.. I suppose that's both a lack thereof and abundance thereof of my own interests, I suppose..
SCUBA DIVING!
A short list: languages, culture, development, maps, music, colours, parties, living as if you don't stop, because you never know when you do, Roskilde Festival, going on international trips I can't afford..

Lolita/Catch-22/Moby Dick.. lots more.. I have a massive to-read list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've met the AMAZING people I've met, all over the world.
Also, I like to think I've realised how lucky I am to have reached my 28th birthday, and had access to clean water, clean air, and education.. etc. In this day and age that seems an amazing thing in itself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have no idea what I'll teach you, but I'm hope to be able to do so! That's the fun.

I make a mean lasagne.
Want to learn the IPA? I'm your man.
