About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I recently quit my job and decided to travel for 3-4 months. My first trip is in October with my dog Panda around Europe (mostly Switzerland - hiking in the Alpes). In November I will head to Asia, Australia and New Zealand for 2.5 months. I am planning to finish my yoga teacher training during this time as well as get back to working with horses and hopefully go on some spiritual retreats.

I came back to Finland at the end of 2021 after spending 5 years in Australia. I started working as Hotel Reception Duty Manager. I have plans to move back to Spain (where I studied) to start my own business and make a living out of my passions.

In Australia I also got the chance to work with horses and fulfill my dream of having my own - I had my amazing boys Phoenix and Eclipse for a few years. I couldn’t bring them to Europe unfortunately but my puppy Panda made the trip back with me ❤️

ABOUT ME

I feel like a multinational person as I'm half Finnish and half Polish, I lived in Australia for 5 years , in the UK for 1 year and in Spain for almost 5 years before that - apart from that I'm travelling frequently ^^ So I'd say restless and spontaneous are two words that describe me quite well.. I'm also an open-minded, adventurous and caring person. I’m vegetarian (trying to be vegan ) and I feel strongly about animal rights and environmental protection.

I'm interested in quite many things but I'm especially passionate about horses, music (playing the piano and guitar and singing) and dancing (bachata, kizomba, zouk and salsa). I've also been practicing yoga for 7 years and it has brought much needed balance for my mind (+ strength and flexibility for the body). I love meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds, and hear about their travel and life stories :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just reactivated my account after many years break. I started using CS already back in 2008, I've experienced incredible hospitality and made good friends in different countries. I used to have a flat in Malaga for 1,5 years and during that time I hosted couch surfers almost every week.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted many times in different countries - alone and with a friend and I've hosted many people in Malaga when I was renting out a flat. I've had many great experiences with cs and I think that it's definitely the best way to experience the local culture and to meet interesting people :)

Horses - Especially natural horsemanship, dressage, trail riding.

Music: Latin (especially salsa and bachata), R&B, kizomba, hip hop, pop&rock ballads, soul, reggae, house, oriental meditation/relax music .. I like many kinds of music but the only ones I can't stand are metal and techno.

Books: Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat, Pray, Love" is the book that has inspired me most. Lately I've discovered "The Celestine Prophecy" and its sequels by James Redfield and "The China Study" about nutrition by Dr. Campbell. I also love to read Paulo Coelho, Torey Hayden, Nicholas Sparks, J.R.R. Tolkien, Patrick Rothfuss, Sophie Kinsella, Cecelia Ahern, Stephenie Meyer and yeah still Harry Potters, love them :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

New Zealand 3 week road trip with my sisters. Incredible scenery and feeling like I was part of Lord of the Rings ❤️

Tantra yoga retreat in Chiang Mai, Thailand - it was a heart and soul opening experience and I met incredible people.

3 day diving course on Koh Tao, Thailand - I was afraid of deep water but got over it and got my diving certificate

Solo traveling around India and South East Asia for 2 months - visited spectacular national parks, rain forests, beaches, temples etc. and met amazing people on the way :)

My first backpacking trip in South America for 2 months (Peru, Bolivia and Chile). Visited amazing places like Machu Picchu, Salar de Uyuni, Colca Canyon etc.

Galloping bareback on a horse in Spain

SSD & CSSF - 10 day latin dance festival in Croatia with my sister. Amazing dancers & workshops, great beach & pool parties and beautiful scenery. The best holiday ever ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you some of the languages I know, horse-back riding, some basics of piano playing and dancing salsa and bachata. I’m also a pretty good cook.

I would love to learn more about natural horsemanship and to play the guitar better. I also want to improve in yoga and learn how to meditate - I find it really hard though cause I have such a restless mind ;/ I also want to try new activities such as surfing, diving, kayaking etc.

I usually cook something for my hosts :)
I can also teach you any of the things mentioned above or help you with pets if you happen to have any.
